Nine college programs, including the Texas Longhorns, Texas Tech Red Raiders and Texas A&M Aggies, hold commitments from four or more prospects in the updated 2024 DCTF Rising Hot 100.

Texas Longhorns - 11

Texas dominated in-state recruiting with six four-star commits, including the No. 1 DE (Colin Simmons), the No. 1 S (Xavier Filsaime) and the No. 1 CB (Kobe Black).

  • #2 DE Colin Simmons (6'3, 225) - Duncanville Panthers
  • #7 S Xavier Filsaime (6'1, 180) - McKinney Lions
  • #9 CB Kobe Black (6'0, 190) - Waco Connally Cadets

  • #29 OC Daniel Cruz (6'4, 270) - Richland Royals

  • #55 QB Trey Owens (6'5, 200) - Cy-Fair Bobcats
  • #74 WR Freddie Dubose (6'1, 170) - Smithson Valley Rangers
  • #94 OG Nate Kibble (6'3, 285) - Humble Atascocita Eagles

Texas Tech Red Raiders - 9

It's no secret that Joey McGuire and Co. prioritize in-state talent, and it paid HUGE dividends this cycle, including the highest-rated commitment of all-time and the state's top-ranked prospect (Micah Hudson).

  • #1 WR Micah Hudson (6'0, 195) - Lake Belton Broncos
  • #39 QB William Hammond (6'2, 190) - Hutto Hippos
  • #42 OT Ellis Davis (6'7, 275) - Prosper Eagles
  • #54 S Peyton Morgan (6'1, 175) - Pflugerville Weiss Wolves
  • #62 ATH J'Koby Williams (5'9, 170) - Beckville Bearcats
  • #81 DE Cheta Ofili (6'4, 210) - Sachse Mustangs
  • #87 S Malik Esquerra (6'3, 180) - Killeen Shoemaker Wolves
  • #91 OT Jacob Ponton (6'7, 250) - Dripping Springs Tigers
  • #93 ATH Oliver Miles (6'1, 175) - El Campo Ricebirds

TCU Horned Frogs - 8

Sonny Dykes and his staff do a tremendous job in the evaluation department and own some in-state commitments that will move the needle at the next level, namely No. 2-rated QB Hauss Hejny.

  • #27 QB Hauss Hejny (5'11, 185) - Aledo Bearcats
  • #38 WR Gekyle Baker (6'2, 170) - Brownsboro Bears
  • #73 RB Nate Palmer (5'10, 175) - Decatur Eagles
  • #76 RB Jeremy Payne (5'10, 170) - Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes
  • #85 DE Travis Jackson (6'4, 230) - Tyler Legacy Red Raiders
  • #88 CB Devondre McGee (6'1, 180) - Conroe Tigers
  • #95 OT Tobias Steppes (6'6, 260) - Lancaster Tigers
  • #99 S Kaden McFadden (5'10, 170) - Texarkana Pleasant Grove Hawks

Oklahoma Sooners - 7

The Sooners dipped into Texas and secured a high amount of quality, but No. 1 RB Taylor Tatum could step right into the offense and be a difference-maker. Six of its seven Texas-based commits are four stars.

  • #11 RB Taylor Tatum (5'11, 200) - Longview Lobos
  • #16 DE Nigel Smith (6'5, 250) - Melissa Cardinals
  • #19 WR Zion Kearney (6'3, 195) - Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes
  • #30 S Jaydan Hardy (6'0, 170) - Lewisville Fighting Farmers
  • #33 QB Michael Hawkins Jr (6'2, 185) - Frisco Emerson Mavericks
  • #49 TE Ivan Carreon (6'6, 195) - Odessa Bronchos
  • #61 CB Eli Bowen (5'9, 165) - Denton Guyer Wildcats

Texas A&M Aggies - 7

Texas A&M is still fighting for some prospects down the stretch, so this list is in flux. Will they sign top in-state verbal commitments like No. 1 ATH Terry Bussey, No. 1 DT Dealyn Evans and No. 1 ILB Ty'Anthony Smith?

  • #5 ATH Terry Bussey (5'11, 175) - Timpson Bears
  • #15 DT Dealyn Evans (6'5, 270) - Longview Pine Tree Pirates
  • #26 ILB Ty'Anthony Smith (6'2, 205) - Jasper Bulldogs
  • #32 OT Ashton Funk (6'6, 295) - Katy Tompkins Falcons
  • #40 OG Blake Ivy (6'3, 275) - Clear Springs Chargers
  • #64 S Myles Davis (6'1, 185) - Converse Judson Rockets
  • #100 WR Ernest Campbell (5'8, 150) - Refugio Bobcats

LSU Tigers - 6

LSU is back in Texas heavily after only inking six players in the last two classes combined. There is much to be excited about for Tigers fans, but No. 2 RB Caden Durham has eye-popping 10.25 100-meter speed and just won Offensive MVP honors following a 6A Division I state title win (the state's largest classification).

  • #17 RB Caden Durham (5'10, 185) - Duncanville Panthers
  • #21 OLB Xavier Atkins (6'0, 205) - Humble Summer Creek Bulldogs
  • #23 OT Weston Davis (6'5, 285) - Beaumont United Timberwolves
  • #24 WR Jelani Watkins (5'9, 160) - Humble Atascocita Eagles
  • #44 OLB Davhon Keys (6'0, 205) - Aledo Bearcats
  • #68 OT Ory Williams (6'8, 320) - San Marcos Rattlers

SMU, USC and Arkansas each did an admirable job of recruiting Texas in the 2024 cycle with four commitments each in the Hot 100.
