Notes: Gambill announces his retirement on March 16, he posted a 65-4 overall record at Allen and he led the Eagles to the 2017 6A-Division I state title. Gambill in eleven seasons as a head coach at Waco Midway and Allen posted a 132-17 overall record. Allen names three time state title winning head coach and former SMU and Arkansas head coach Chad Morris as head coach on March 31. Morris holds a 167-40 record as a TXHSFB coach with stints at Eustace, Elysian Fields, Bay City, Stephenville and Lake Travis.

Notes: Teykl resigns his post after just two games due to allegations of racially insensitive remarks. Alvin finished the 2020 season with an interim head coach. Alvin ISD promotes offensive coordinator James Gage on February 9, Gage spent four seasons as head coach at S&S Consolidated from 2015-2018.

Notes: Rohan was unable to get long struggling Cy Springs going as he departs after three seasons and a 2-28 record. His best season was a 10-3 mark in 2016. Fort Bend Marshall OC Oji Fagan hired on February 5, Fagan was the offensive coordinator for back to back state finalists at Fort Bend Marshall.

Notes: Faith announces his retirement after a long career at Cy Woods and in the Houston area, he spent nine seasons at Cy Woods posting a 52-45 overall record, with the Wildcats making the playoffs five times, including an 8-5 mark in 2014. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial HC Cody Simper hired on February 11, Simper in ten seasons as a head coach holds an 80-38 overall record at Corpus Christi Ray and Corpus Christi Vets.

Notes: Burton resigns his post after eight seasons leading the Cardinals, he led Del Valle to the playoffs in 2016 and steps down as the longest tenured head coach in school history. Del Valle names IMG Academy Head Coach Bobby Acosta as head coach on April 2.

Notes: Fisher, a Palo Duro alum resigns after five seasons and a 12-37 overall record at PDHS. Duncanville OC and Palo Duro alum Eric Mims hired on January 20. Coach Mims who has been an assistant at Palo Duro, Dallas Skyline and Duncanville is the first black head coach in Amarillo ISD UIL history.

Notes: Ressa, a Newman Smith alum led his alma mater for 14 seasons posting a 52-94 record. He led the Trojans to new heights in the playoffs posting back to back regional semifinal appearances in 2009-2010. McKinney OC Robert Boone hired for his first head coaching position on February 9.

Last Year's Record: 13-1
Notes: Abseck departs Cedar Park after six outstanding seasons where he posted a 71-10 overall record, leading CPHS to a state title in 2015 and a title game appearance in 2020. He spent a total of sixteen years at Cedar Park as a HFC and assistant. Leander ISD names Red Oak HC and former Cedar Parl DC Michael Quintero as HFC on June 28.

Notes: Simper steps down after five outstanding seasons at Veterans Memorial where he posted a 50-14 mark and led the Eagles to the state semifinals in 2020. He takes over at Class 6A Cypress Woods. CCISD promotes OC Bejamin Bitner on March 27.

Notes: Sam departs Hightower after two seasons and an 11-10 record, to take over at 6A Arlington Bowie. He led the Hurricanes to the third round round of the playoffs in 2020. FBISD names Rosenberg Terry HC Cornelius Anthony as HC on April 23.

Notes: Rhoades departs Gregory-Portland after five seasons where he posted a 26-24 overall mark. He won three straight state titles as head coach at Cameron Yoe from 2012-2014. San Angelo Central HC Brent Davis hired on January 21, Davis has a 195-103-1 record with stops at Banquete, Sinton, The Colony, Alice and San Angelo Central and led Sinton to the state title game in 2001.

Last Year's Record: 5-4
Notes: Renfro departs La Porte after two seasons and a 9-11 overall record to return to Clear Springs where he was an assistant coach before being hired at La Porte. Crosby DC Jackson Tarr hired on May 3 to lead the Bulldogs.

Old Coach: Chris Gilbert
Last Year's Record: 10-1
Notes: Gilbert departs Lancaster after ten seasons and an 88-35 record to take a job on staff at the University of Texas. Gilbert led LHS to a state title game in 2012 and three other regional final appearances and holds a 121-58 overall record as a head coach at South Oak Cliff, Terrell and Lancaster. Duncanville passing game coordinator and head track coach Leon Paul named new head coach.
Lubbock Coronado Mustangs

Last Year's Record: 12-1
Notes: Parr after seven seasons where he posted an impressive 59-26 overall record resigns to take over at Class 4A Anna. Parr's best season was a 13-1 mark in 2017 and he also led the Mustangs to the regionals semifinals three times. LISD names Cedar Hill assistant and Coronado alum D.J. Mann as their next HFC on February 25.

Notes: Melson who spent 14 seasons leading Legacy resigns his post to go back to his native Oklahoma and go into private business, he posted a 71-74 overall record with his best year being 2017 when the Broncos made a state semifinal appearance in 5A-Division II. Mansfield ISD names Waco Midway HC Jeff Hulme as HFC on June 3.

Old Coach: Bill Littleton
Last Year's Record: 5-2
Notes: Littleton announces his retirement on June 2 after 41 seasons in education, he spent 22 seasons as a head coach at Cuero and McAllen Memorial posting a 155-88 overall record. He had been at McAllen Memorial since 2003. DC Moses Patterson promoted to interim HC on June 21.

Notes: Lepsis resigns at Canyon after three seasons and a 15-18 overall record. He led the Cougars to a total turnaround in 2020 posting an 11-2 record and a trip to the regionals semifinals after going 0-10 in 2019. Comal ISD names Seguin HC Travis Bush as the new HFC at Canyon.

Notes: Hall retires after a stellar career in which he spent 37 seasons at Brackenridge, including 26 as head coach where he posted a 147-125 record and is San Antonio ISD's winngest head coach. San Antonio Stevens special teams coordinator Larry Norman named HC on February 24.

Notes: Tarvin who started up the Legacy program announces his retirement, he took the Titans to the area playoffs in just their third season of varsity football. Southwest ISD promotes OC Robert Bruce to HFC on March 16.

Notes: Bush departs Seguin after five seasons and a 23-29 overall record. After just four wins in his first two years, Bush's squads made the playoffs in his final three years and won seven games in 2018 and 2020. Seguin ISD brings back Seguin HS graduate Craig Dailey as AD/HFC, Dailey has spent the last five seasons as the HFC at Clear Springs.

Notes: Patton, who guided Tioga in a return to eleven man football posted a 6-24 record in his three seasons was reassigned in November. Tioga lands a splash hire in Denison's Chad Rogers who in twenty seasons as a head coach at Snyder and Denison holds a 146-85 overall record.

Notes: Wood departs Tom Bean after three seasons and an 11-19 overall record. Tom Bean promotes Aaron Whitmire to head coach on May 5.

Notes: Moody departs Valley Mills after four seasons; he posted a 15-27 record, but after an initial 0-10 season in 2017 he got the Eagles on solid footing, including a 6-5 mark in 2019. Mt Vernon DC Robert Featherston hired on April 15.

Notes: Thornton steps aside after four difficult seasons in Hico where the Tigers were 12-30 overall, seven of his twelve wins at Hico came in his first season at the helm. Brock WR Coach Todd Swearengin hired on Feb. 22.

Notes: Aguero won't return for a fifth season at La Pryor, he posted a 28-17 record at La Pryor including a trip to the regional semifinals in 2017. LaPryor hires Center HC Scott Ponder on January 15, Ponder is a 20-year head coaching veteran with a 142-94 overall record and a state title in 2002 at Petrolia.
