Notes: Rohan was unable to get long struggling Cy Springs going as he departs after three seasons and a 2-28 record. His best season was a 10-3 mark in 2016. Fort Bend Marshall OC Oji Fagan hired on February 5, Fagan was the offensive coordinator for back to back state finalists at Fort Bend Marshall.

Notes: Faith announces his retirement after a long career at Cy Woods and in the Houston area, he spent nine seasons at Cy Woods posting a 52-45 overall record, with the Wildcats making the playoffs five times, including an 8-5 mark in 2014. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial HC Cody Simper hired on February 11, Simper in ten seasons as a head coach holds an 80-38 overall record at Corpus Christi Ray and Corpus Christi Vets.

Notes: Leija is reassigned after five seasons and a 27-21 overall record, he led the Bobcats to the playoffs in his first three seasons.

Notes: Davis departs San Angelo Central after twelve years and a 95-46 overall record. He took over a program in 2009 mired in a long losing streak and turned the Bobcats into a West Texas power. He takes over at Class 5A Gregory-Portland. Offensive coordinator Kevin Crane was promoted to the HFC role on February 4.

Notes: Cavil in his first head coaching job was unable to get things going at his alma mater as he resigned after three seasons leading the Lions. South Grand Prairie DC Linden Heldt hired on January 25.

Last Year's Record: 5-5
Notes: Alexander steps down after three seasons and a 8-22 overall record, Waxahachie improved to 5-5 in 2020 and earned a playoff spot in one of the state's toughest districts. Waxahachie names Denton Ryan DC Shane Tolleson on February 8.

Notes: Fisher, a Palo Duro alum resigns after five seasons and a 12-37 overall record at PDHS. Duncanville OC and Palo Duro alum Eric Mims hired on January 20. Coach Mims who has been an assistant at Palo Duro, Dallas Skyline and Duncanville is the first black head coach in Amarillo ISD UIL history.

Notes: Cantu steps down after nine strong seasons at Veterans Memorial posting a 61-33 record. His best season came in 2017 when his squad posted a 10-2 record.

Last Year's Record: 5-4
Notes: Ressa, a Newman Smith alum led his alma mater for 14 seasons posting a 52-94 record. He led the Trojans to new heights in the playoffs posting back to back regional semifinal appearances in 2009-2010. McKinney OC Robert Boone hired for his first head coaching position on February 9.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles

Notes: Simper steps down after five outstanding seasons at Veterans Memorial where he posted a 50-14 mark and led the Eagles to the state semifinals in 2020. He takes over at Class 6A Cypress Woods.

Last Year's Record: 3-6
Notes: Rhoades departs Gregory-Portland after five seasons where he posted a 26-24 overall mark. He won three straight state titles as head coach at Cameron Yoe from 2012-2014. San Angelo Central HC Brent Davis hired on January 21, Davis has a 195-103-1 record with stops at Banquete, Sinton, The Colony, Alice and San Angelo Central and led Sinton to the state title game in 2001.
Lancaster Tigers

Old Coach: Chris Gilbert
Last Year's Record: 10-1
Notes: Gilbert departs Lancaster after ten seasons and an 88-35 record to take a job on staff at the University of Texas. Gilbert led LHS to a state title game in 2012 and three other regional final appearances and holds a 121-58 overall record as a head coach at South Oak Cliff, Terrell and Lancaster.

Old Coach: Seth Parr
Last Year's Record: 12-1
Notes: Parr after seven seasons where he posted an impressive 59-26 overall record resigns to take over at Class 4A Anna. Parr's best season was a 13-1 mark in 2017 and he also led the Mustangs to the regionals semifinals three times.

Notes: Joseph resigns after two seasons at Magnolia West to take over as the QB Coach at North Texas. He posted a 10-11 mark in two seasons. Sweetwater HC Ben McGehee named head coach at MWHS on February 9.

Notes: Mireles departs after two seasons and an 11-9 overall record to take over at Class 6A Laredo LBJ. Rio Grande City turns to former HC Jesus Lozano who led the Rattlers from 2004-2008 to return to the sidelines. Lozano had been in RGCISD administration the past few years.

Notes: Hall retires after a stellar career in which he spent 37 seasons at Brackenridge, including 26 as head coach where he posted a 147-125 record and is San Antonio ISD's winngest head coach. San Antonio Stevens special teams coordinator Larry Norman named HC on February 24.

Notes: Tarvin who started up the Legacy program announces his retirement, he took the Titans to the area playoffs in just their third season of varsity football.

Notes: Surratt steps aside after four years and a 14-23 record, he guided Princeton into their transition from a 4A to a 5A program. Former Princeton assistant and Blooming Grove head coach Ervin Chandler hired on December 17.

Notes: Smith, who served as Waco University's head basketball coach before being named head football coach in 2017 becomes Waco ISD's Assistant AD. He helped the Trojans break a 47-game losing streak in 2018. Waco University hires Little Rock Central HC Kent Laster on January 25, Laster a former Frisco Heritage assistant spent three seasons as a head coach in Arkansas.

Notes: Gold departs Whitehouse after three seasons as HC to take over at Wylie East where he once was an assistant. Gold posted a solid 23-11 overall record at WHS.

Last Year's Record: 3-7
Notes: Heath after nine seasons leading the fast growing community of Anna moves into an administrative role in Anna ISD. Heath was 40-55 in his nine seasons at Anna, he led the Coyotes to a playoff win in 2015. Anna hires Lubbock Coronado HC Seth Parr, Parr in fourteen seasons as a head coach has a 94-63 overall record.
El Campo Ricebirds

New Coach: Chad Worrell
Old Coach: Wayne Condra
Last Year's Record: 9-2
Notes: Condra retired shortly after the 2020 season wrapped up, he led the Ricebirds for six seasons posting a 50-20 record. He also had four seasons as a head coach in Victoria going 27-18 from 1999-2002. El Campo on January 26 names Brock head coach Chad Worrell head coach.

Notes: Thomas steps down from his post at Booker T. Washington after one season at the helm.

Notes: Hickey will not return to his alma mater for a third season, he led Yates to the playoffs twice and posted a 7-9 overall record.

Notes: Crouch announced his retirement on January 4 after a dozen seasons leading LCM where he posted a 51-70 record. LCM names Beaumont West Brook HC Eric Peevey as head coach on February 4.

Notes: Babin resigns his post after six seasons at Lumberton move closer to family in the Houston area. He posted a 29-32 overall record and led the Raiders to the the area playoffs in 2018. Center OC James Reyes hired on January 7.

Notes: Poynor departs Pampa after seven seasons and a 45-34 record to take over as HFC/AD at Seminole.
Somerset Bulldogs

Old Coach: Sonny Detmer
Last Year's Record: 2-7
Notes: Detmer, a legend in South Texas passed away in September. He spent 35 years as a head coach in Texas with four seperate stints at Somerset, San Antonio Southwest and Mission. He posted a 239-141 overall record and is considered one of the real early innovators of the spread offense in Texas. His defensive coordinator Rick Molina coached the Bulldogs in 2020. Somerset hires Detmer's son Koy on January 11, Koy who played in the NFL comes to Somerset after a successful stint as head coach at his alma mater, Mission.

Notes: Little, who had lots of success in Riesel was unable to get things going in Taylor and is reassigned after two winless seasons.

Vernon hires Sonora head coach Kevin Sherill who has six season of head coaching experience with a 25-39 overall record.

Notes: Knostman after six seasons leading Aransas Pass moves into district administration. He posted a 25-37 record, with his best mark coming in 2015 where the Panthers finished 8-4. APHS names Van Vleck OC Justin Taylor HFC on January 28, Taylor does have prior head coaching experience at Christoval where he posted a 20-22 overall record in four seasons.

Notes: McClure after ten seasons leading the Rabbits steps down and moves into Atlanta ISD admin. McClure posted a 65-54 record, taking Atlanta to the regional finals three times. His best season was a 12-2 mark in 2014.

Three time state title winning head coach Rick Rhoades returns to Yoe after a five year stint at Gregory-Portland, Rhoades who coached at Yoe from 2009-2015 led the Yoemen to five title game appearances, winning three and posting an impressive 82-17 overall record.

Notes: Cervetto, who came out an adminstrative role to lead Dublin back in 2011 oversaw the complete turnaround of the Lions program from doormat to contender. He retired shortly after the 2020 season ended with a 38-68 record. He led the Lions to playoff wins in 2014, 2015 and 2019 and Dublin ISD named their newly built stadium after Cervetto and his wife. Longtime assistant Greg Hardcastle promoted to HFC/AD.
