The Texas high school football coach’s recommendation and in-person evaluations play a significant role in DCTF’s rankings process. Through those combined efforts, we try to provide our fans an accurate guideline to track the top college-bound prospects in the state.

Three New Four-Stars in Final Hot 100 Update (1/30/2023): 

TE Jaden Platt (6'5, 230) - Haslet Eaton: A well-rounded tight end who will grow as a blocker as he matures in the Texas A&M strength and conditioning program. Platt possesses a tremendous frame, long arms and is extremely intelligent. 

TE Ka'Morreun Pimpton (6'6, 225) - North Crowley: An elite red zone weapon who can stretch the field vertically as a mismatch option in the flex. Pimpton's catch radius, size, and athleticism make him a mismatch nightmare for linebackers or defensive backs. LSU signee. 

DE Princewill Umanmielen (6'4, 230) - Manor: In a loaded batch of prospects. Umanmielen pushes up the list behind a strong senior season, where he showed off a more robust set of pass rush techniques to terrorize quarterbacks. The No. 8 rated DE signed with Nebraska. 

The Final Two Five-Star Prospects (12/20/2022):

The Top 5 highest-rated prospects in each recruiting cycle will be awarded five-star status and unveiled periodically throughout the year, and now the final two five stars have been selected to join DE David Hicks Jr., LB Anthony Hill Jr. and Rueben Owens II. 

The final two DCTF five-star prospects are DeSoto WR Johntay Cook (6'0, 170) and Denton Guyer QB Jackson Arnold (6'1, 205). 

Cook had a remarkable senior season, helping DeSoto to the 6A Division II state title. The No. 4 prospect in the state collected 84 receptions, for 1,487 yards and 22 touchdowns. Cook is committed to Texas. College Comparison: Xavier Worthy

Arnold helped guide Denton Guyer to the 6A Division I semifinals. He completed 69% of his passes for 3,476 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also rushed for 921 yards and 24 scores. Arnold is committed to Oklahoma. College Comparison: Caleb Williams
