Prospect on the Rise
Haslet Eaton 2022 OLB/S Ben Roberts (6'3, 210) picked up an offer and quickly committed to Texas Tech over Tulsa, Air Force, Army and Lamar.
Scouting Report: Roberts has experience playing safety at the high school level, but his size and frame suggest that he would be a candidate to add mass and move into the box as he develops within a strength and conditioning program at the next level. He is a sure tackle with above-average ball skills.
Commit of the Week
Frisco Lone Star 2022 WR/RB Ashton Jeanty (5'9, 185) committed to Boise State over offers from Air Force, Army, Dartmouth and Kansas.
Jeanty is rated as a DCTF three-star prospect.
Scouting Report: Jeanty has a lot of experience playing running back in the Lone Star offense. He can stick in the backfield, but his speed and quickness also translate well to the slot. Jeanty may end up being a versatile weapon that a college offense can use in various ways.
Underclassmen of the Week
Rockwall 2023 WR Noble Johnson (6'2, 205) is having a monster junior season, leading to numerous new scholarship offers.
This week Johnson picked up offers from USC, Miami (FL), Utah, Pitt and Arizona, adding to a list featuring UTSA, Louisiana Tech and Tennessee.
Johnson has collected 20 receptions for 439 yards and six touchdowns to help lead Rockwall to a 3-0 start.
Recruit of the Week
El Campo 2023 RB Rueben Owens II (5'11, 190) was nominated for Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week after rushing for over 300 yards and scoring six touchdowns in a 49-35 win over Port Lavaca Calhoun.
The one-time Texas Longhorns commitment also reaffirmed that he is open to all schools. "Recruiting process 100% open to all programs," Owens posted.
Owens is one of the most highly-targeted running backs in the nation, boasting 35 scholarship offers.
