Prospect on the Rise

Mansfield Lake Ridge 2021 CB Marvin Covington (5'11, 180) picked up an offer from Mississippi State on Tuesday.

The Mike Leach led SEC program follows offers from North Texas, Houston, and Miami (FL), who all offered Covington last week.

Covington is having a monster senior season on the island as he has the size and skill set to match-up well with the opposition's top wide receiver. Look for more offers to follow.

Commit of the Week

Denton Ryan ATH Billy Bowman (5'10, 175) committed to Oklahoma over offers from many of the nation's most elite programs.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Strongly built two-way standout with dangerous return game ability. Looks like a running back but plays with the athleticism and fluidity of a defensive back. Explosive with terrific long speed. Great with the ball in his hands and in coverage. Natural football player with outstanding athleticism.

Bowman checks in as the No. 1 ATH in the state and the No. 13 prospect overall in the DCTF Hot 100.

Underclassmen of the Week

Dickinson 2022 TE Donovan Green (6'4, 220) announced a top six, and two in-state programs made the cut: Texas and Texas A&M.

Florida, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and USC joined the Longhorns and the Aggies on the power-packed list.

Green is already rated as a DCTF four-star prospect and is considered the consensus No. 2 TE nationally.

Recruit of the Week

Southlake Carroll 2021 QB Quinn Ewers (6'3, 195) is back on the recruiting market after announcing his decommitment from the Texas Longhorns.

"With the process being abnormal this season, I tried my best to keep an open mind to all possibilities," Ewers posted on social media regarding his decision.

"However, the more I've considered the more I've come to realize I didn't explore all options as thoroughly as I would have liked. Therefore, I've decided to de-commit and reassess the situation before making such an important decision on my future. I would like to thank the University of Texas for their belief in me and my abilities."

Ewers. is rated as the No. 1 prospect in the DCTF 2022 prospect rankings. The five-star signal-caller was the highest-rated Longhorns commit since Vince Young, so this was a considerable loss for Tom Herman and his staff.

Ewers has collected 30 offers with schools like Baylor, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma as some of the headliners.
