1-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP:  Cooper Martin (Shallowater, QB)

Martin (6'0, 185) earned District Offensive MVP after leading Shallowater to an 11–3 record. He improved tremendously as the season went along, throwing for 1,708 yards and 22 touchdowns while racking up 633 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Colton Strickland (Bushland, LB)

Strickland (5'11, 185) was a First Team All-District selection as a junior with 83 tackles and two interceptions. He is the top defensive returner for a Bushland squad that went 10–2 a year ago.

2-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Cylius McCurley (Lamesa, WR)

McCurley (5'10, 175) was the District's Overall MVP with 86 receptions for 1,316 yards and 27 touchdowns. He and QB Daniel Ramos, just a sophomore, return after lighting up the scoreboard in 2024. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Abraham Velasco (Denver City, LB)

Velasco will captain the defense for new head coach Doug Duncan. Duncan is the program's third head coach in as many years. 

3-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Caiden Ortiz (Sweetwater, QB)

Ortiz (5'9, 170) already has 19 starts under his belt heading into his junior season. He earned First Team All-District accolades in 2024 with 1,906 total yards and 21 touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Aiden Ellis (Jim Ned, LB)

Ellis (5'11, 180) was the District's Overall MVP with 1,460 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, but he's also a two-year starter at linebacker. He headlines a unit that was named one of the best in Class 3A by DCTX.

4-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Ayden Olalde (Paradise, QB)

Olalde (5'11, 185) led Paradise to the state semifinals as a sophomore, the program's best season ever. He earned District Offensive Newcomer of the Year with 1,450 passing yards, 700 rushing yards and 20 total touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Mark Tullous (Peaster, S)

Tullous (6'1, 180) is the headliner on Peaster's No.1-ranked secondary unit in Class 3A. He was the District Defensive MVP with 104 tackles, six tackles for loss, three interceptions and two sacks. The former outside linebacker brings the boom in the run game. 

5-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kobe Haynes (Whitney, WR)

Haynes (6'1, 190) earned First Team All-District honors as a sophomore with 80 receptions for 1,050 yards and 14 touchdowns. He holds an early offer from Baylor

Preseason Defensive MVP: Bleu Hubbard (Grandview, LB)

Hubbard (6'2, 220) was the District Co-MVP with 51 tackles and six tackles for loss. He also added 668 yards and nine touchdowns at wide receiver. 

6-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Eric Cisneros (Palmer, QB)

Cisneros (6'1, 170) is a four-year starter who earned District MVP with 2,524 passing yards, 1,711 rushing yards and 57 total touchdowns. He and his Palmer teammates will defend thier district title in 2025. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Caden David (Pilot Point ATH)

Whitesboro's Brayden Bomar was the magazine pick, but is now at Tom Bean High School. Pilot Point FB/DE Caden David (5'10, 200) is the new selection after winning District Defensive Newcomer of the Year with 94 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and seven sacks. Coach Chad Worrell calls him a leader on both sides of the ball because he doesn't come off the field. 

7-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Camden Capeheart (Winnsboro, WR)

Capeheart (5'9, 160), a Mississippi State commit, is a Class 3A Preseason All-State selection after earning First Team All-District honors with 56 catches for 1,379 yards and 26 touchdowns. He and QB Nolee Carroll were named the top QB/WR duo in Class 3A by DCTX. 

Preseason Defensive MVP:Jerrion Hall (Malakoff, LB)

Hall (5'9, 180) had 733 yards and 13 touchdowns at running back last season, but he could play a pivotal role on Malakoff's defense as it looks to replace Parker Poteete (Trinity Valley).

8-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Jayden Riley (Atlanta, WR)

Liberty-Eylau wide receiver Dequane Prevo, who moved to Arkansas over the offseason, was the original selection. We've selected another wide receiver, Atlanta's Jayden Riley, to take the torch. Coach Tyler Morton calls Riley (5'7, 175), "a ball of dynamite. In my opinion, he is one of the best players in East Texas." He earned District Utility Player of the Year with 52 catches for 921 yards and 13 touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Kobin Tomlinson (Jefferson, LB)

Tomlinson (5'11, 195) set a school record last year with 134 tackles, winning unanimous District Defensive MVP. Coach Ty Taylor says Tomlinson is the, "unquestioned leader of the defense and team." Look for him to play some quarterback this fall as well. 

9-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kavian Bryant (Palestine Westwood, QB)

Bryant (6'2, 190) led Palestine Westwood to 58.3 points per game, winning District Co-MVP with 2,776 passing yards, 871 rushing yards and 51 total touchdowns. He is a DCTX four-star with over 20 offers.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Jaden Cole (Teague, LB)

Cole (6'1, 229) is a four-year starter with 100+ tackles in every season. He was a First Team All-District selection with 112 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and an interception in 2024. 

10-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP:Mason Manning (Orangefield, RB)

Manning (5'10, 190) was the District MVP with 1,783 yards and 27 touchdowns. The Lamar commit helped carry Orangefield to a 6–0 district record.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Koby Jones (East Chambers, LB)

Jones (6'1, 190) was a First Team All-District running back selection in 2024 with 631 yards and nine touchdowns. The senior should also see extensive snaps at linebacker. 

11-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: RJ Fulton (Franklin, RB)

Fulton (5'11, 190) was a First Team All-District linebacker in 2024 and also racked up 680 yards and five touchdowns rushing despite playing behind Jayden Jackson (Iowa State). DCTX expects he'll put up numbers as the feature back in Franklin's Slot-T offense.  

Preseason Defensive MVP: Carter Kuhn (Little River Academy, LB)

Kuhn (5'10, 190) transferred in from Class 4A Lampasas when his father, Ty, took Little River Academy's head coach job. He had 90 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and five sacks as a junior and joins a program returning 27 lettermen.

12-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Braylon Fisher (Columbus, WR)

Fisher (6'0, 185) is a Preseason All-State Class 3A selection after catching 30 passes for 1,338 yards and 16 touchdowns as a sophomore. He'll be the main target for Columbus's new quarterback in 2025.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Keyon Hemphill-Woods (Columbus, DL)

Hemphill-Woods (6'4, 285) is a Preseason All-State Class 3A offensive line selection, but Coach Matt Schobel says he should be a force on the defensive side as well. The junior had 33 tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack.

13-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Luke Davis (Llano, QB)

Davis (5'9, 150) has started 19 career games ahead of his junior season. The team's record improved from 5–5 in his freshman season to 12–2 in his sophomore campaign. He was a First Team All-District selection with 2,757 yards and 33 touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Wes Harris (Universal City Randolph, DL)

Harris (6'4, 315) was a First Team All-District selection as both an offensive and defensive lineman. He had 107 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and five sacks.

14-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kye Schorsch (Jourdanton, RB)

Schorsch (5'7, 185) was a First Team All-District selection with 990 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns. Coach Darrell Andrus calls him, "a physical runner with tremendous balance and explosion."

Preseason Defensive MVP: Nick Flores (Crystal City, LB)

Flores (5'8, 170) is a leader on and off the field for Crystal City, which looks to win it's first district championship since 1953. He was a Second Team All-District selection with 89 tackles. 

15-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Lamont Franklin (Goliad, RB/WR)

Franklin (5'11, 170) was the District's Co-Offensive Player of the Year with 1,205 rushing yards, 712 receiving yards and 30 total touchdowns. He and fellow running back Donovan Perry will power Goliad's offense. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Hunter Buehring (Edna, DE)

Buehring (6'4, 225) is the Preseason Class 3A Defensive Player of the Year after winning District Defensive MVP in 2024. He had 82 tackles, 11 sacks and four forced fumbles.

16-3A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Braxten Montalvo (Bishop, QB)

New Bishop head coach David McHugh has a returning quarterback in Montalvo (6'2, 215) who showed a lot of promise as a sophomore in a First Team All-District season with 1,945 yards and 18 touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Marcel Molina (San Diego, DL)

San Diego has won three consecutive district championships, and junior defensive lineman Molina (6'0, 250) will be a critical piece in the four-peat bid. Molina was a unanimous First Team All-District center who'll be a game wrecker on defense.

1-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Slayden Dickinson (Canadian, RB)

Dickinson (5'11, 175) earned District Offensive MVP honors with a breakout junior season, rushing for 1,629 yards and 20 touchdowns. He'll be the offensive focal point for a Canadian program seeking it's 13th state quarterfinals trip in 14 years.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Jacob Mora (Childress, LB)

Mora (6'0, 180) racked up 130 tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions in a First Team All-District season. Coach Bo Helm says Mora is a versatile two-way player who has a high football IQ.

2-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kamdon Lutrick (Idalou, QB)

Lutrick (6'0, 165) had 80 tackles, six pass breakups and five interceptions in a First Team All-District season at safety. This fall, he will spearhead Idalou's offense at quarterback.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Mason Martinez (Slaton, LB)

Martinez (5'10, 210) had 204 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles in a First Team All-District season as Slaton improved from one win to seven wins.

3-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Deadrick Hardwick (Alpine, ATH)

Hardwick (6'0, 160) had 1,100 receiving yards, but earned District MVP for his two-way ability. He had five interceptions and two pick-sixes in a two game stretch in 2024.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Braxton Morris (Odessa Compass, DB)

Morris (6'1, 155) was a First Team All-District selection with 63 tackles and three interceptions at safety. Coach Boe Smith says Morris is a, "physical player that can play in the box and is athletic enough to play in coverage."

4-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Landon York (Wall, QB)

Wall switched to a spread offense in 2024, and York (6'3, 180) put up video game numbers in a 13–2 season. The Preseason Class 3A All-State quarterback threw for 3,767 yards and 48 touchdowns. Three starters return from an offensive line that surrendered just one sack in 15 games. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Hagyn Barbee (Wall, DB)

Barbee (5'9, 170) is one of four returning starters that will lead Wall. 

5-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Jackson Ritz (Clifton, QB)

Ritz was a Second Team All-District safety as a sophomore and will give Clifton a dual-threat player under center. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Demarcus Reed (Brady, DL)

Reed (5'10, 245) has been a two-way starter on the offensive and defensive lines for three years. He was the District's Offensive Lineman of the Year and a First Team All-District defensive tackle with 77 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, five sacks and three forced fumbles. 

6-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Wyatt Gavit (Jacksboro, QB)

Gavit (6'0, 190) is the leader of Jacksboro's team after putting up 4,253 yards and 45 passing touchdowns in a First Team All-District season. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Owen Hays (Holliday, DB)

Hays (5'8, 160) was a First Team All-District selection in 2024, leading Holliday with 85 solo tackles and three interceptions.

7-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Caleb Gaddis (Blue Ridge, WR)

Coach Jason Russell led Blue Ridge to a 9–3 record behind a Gaddis-focused offense. The 6'2, 175 receiver used his 41" vertical to haul in 1,267 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. The Stephen F. Austin commit is also a threat on special teams with three kickoff return touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Caden King (Bells, DL)

King (6'0, 240) was a two-way First Team All-District selection in 2024, and Coach Dale West says the senior has gotten bigger and stronger this offseason. He had 53 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks. 

8-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Corbin Jones (Cedar HIll TLC, RB)

Jones (5'10, 175) was a First Team All-District running back selection with 1,100 rushing yards, but Coach Derrick Adams says he can play anywhere on the field. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Caleb Peavy (Scurry-Rosser, ATH)

Peavy (6'3, 195) was a unanimous First Team All-District player on both sides of the ball. Coach John David Caffey says the hyper-competitive Peavy is an asset wherever he is on the field. He had 37 tackles and two interceptions on defense. 

9-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Jett Taylor (Grand Saline, QB)

Taylor (6'1, 195) had 1,862 rushing yards on 11.28 yards per carry and 30 touchdowns, but he's far from a one-trick pony. The District MVP had 1,593 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, in addition to his safety duties on defense. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Sammy Rodriguez (Lone Oak, LB)

Rodriguez (5'10, 165) is the returning tackle leader (94 tackles, six tackles for loss) and one of the derfensive anchors for Lone Oak.

10-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Ripken Birdwell (Hooks, QB)

Birdwell (6'0, 191) is a four-year Varsity starter entering his third season at quarterback. He was the District's Utility Player of the Year with 2,934 total yards and 33 touchdowns to pair with 41 tackles, six tackles for loss and an interception on defense.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Reign Wallace (Daingerfield, DB)

Wallace (5'9, 160) is dangerous when the ball is in the air, earning First Team All-District honors at both wide receiver and free safety. He had 947 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns to go along with one rushing touchdown and three kickoff return touchdowns.

11-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP:DeJuan Johnson (New Diana, QB)

Coach Jason Pitts calls Johnson (5'9, 170), "the #1 issue of all (New Diana) opponents." Last year as a sophomore, he earned First Team All-District honors with 3,584 total yards and 51 touchdowns. He will keep New Diana in every game. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Brett Wells (Troup, LB)

Wells (5'8, 180) was a two-way First Team All-District player as a sophomore with 1,500 rushing yards and 117 tackles. Troup returns nine starters on each side of the ball. 

12-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kendray Porter Jr. (Newton, RB)

Porter Jr. (5'9, 185) is a Preseason Class 3A All-State running back pick after racking up 2,238 rushing yards and 36 total touchdowns in his sophomore season.

 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Dylan Walker (Newton, DE)

Walker (6'1, 220) was the District's Defensive MVP with ten sacks. He is one of eight returning starters on defense for a Newton team that went 9–4 in 2024. 

13-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kase Evans (Lexington, QB)

Evans (6'3, 195), an Oklahoma State commit, is a four-year starter who threw for 3,113 yards and 37 touchdowns in his junior season, earning unanimous District Offensive MVP accolades. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Donovan Hector (Blanco, DL)

Hector (5'10, 225) was the District's Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year with 68 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He squatted 615 pounds at the state powerlifting meet.

14-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kale Russell (Tidehaven, QB)

Russell (5'10, 185) is 30–0 in district games since his seventh grade football season. Since starting for Tidehaven as a freshman, he's compiled a 12–3 playoff record. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Amare Jones (East Bernard, CB)

Jones (6'0, 175) was the District's Offensive MVP with 35 receptions for 806 yards and seven touchdowns. He's the leader of a hungry East Bernard team that missed out on a district championship by one point. 

15-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Major Luna (Poth, QB)

Luna (6'0, 180) broke Poth's single-season passing yards record with 2,680 yards and 34 touchdowns, earning District MVP. He leads a Poth program that has won every district championship since 2016. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Jonathan Eguia (Dilley, DL)

Eguia (6'0, 290) was a First Team All-District selection who'll lead both offensive and defensive lines for Dilley.

16-3A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kohen Blount (George West, FB)

Coach Rod Blount and his son, Kohen, enter George West after Kohen played the past three seasons at Class 4A Geronimo Navarro. Kohen (6'1, 240) had 1,177 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: JD Flores (Santa Rosa, DE)

Flores (5'8, 181) was a two-way First Team All-District selection at fullback and defensive end. He led Santa Rosa with 73 tackles, eight tackles for loss and five sacks.
