1-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Broxton Robinson (Panhandle, QB)

Robinson (6'1, 190) was the District Overall MVP with 2,090 passing yards, 1,214 rushing yards and 92 tackles on defense. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Mason Gray (Sunray, DL)

Gray (6'1, 255) had 26 tackles and four tackles for loss in his junior campaign. He is powerful presence on the defensive line who can consume blocks and help others run freely to the ball, per Coach Wes Boatmun. 

2-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Landyn Garcia (Post, QB)

Garcia (6'0, 155) set the school passing record as a sophomore with 1,891 yards and 22 touchdowns. The Second Team All-District quarterback selection engineered a run to the state quarterfinals.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Jake Harkey (Abernathy, DL)

Harkey (6'2, 255) is one of the leaders of Abernathy's team, which made his injury before the tenth game of last season so impactful on the field and in the locker room. The two-way All-District selection still managed 35 tackles, eight tackles for loss and a sack.

Preseason Offensive MVP: Christian Villarreal (Ozona, RB)

Coach Jarryd Taylor says Villarreal (6'2, 205) is a bruising running back who can break off long runs when he hits another gear. The First Team All-District selection had 1,438 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Colt Floyd (Christoval, DE)

Reagan County's Elijah Huerta was the magazine pick, but moved to Ozona over the summer. Floyd (6'2, 190) is the new pick after earning All-West Texas defensive line as a junior by leading Christoval with 93 tackles and six sacks. 

4-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Braden Jimenez (Stamford, RB)

Jiminez (5'9, 165) was an aggressive defensive back for Stamford's state championship run, tallying 68 tackles, seven pass breakups, three tackles for loss and two interceptions. A First Team All-District selection at both wide receiver and defensive back last season, Jiminez will be the feature running back in 2025. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Camden Ables (Hawley, ATH)

Coach Mitch Ables has led Hawley to the playoffs in all 11 seasons at the helm, and his son, Camden, will be a crucial factor in the push for the 12th. Camden (6'4, 210) had 55 catches for 1,419 yards and 14 touchdowns, earning First Team All-District tight end honors. But he should be a dominant force on defense, too, evidenced by his Second Team All-District nod at defensive end. 

5-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Heston Jobe (DeLeon, QB)

Jobe (6'1, 185) is a four-year starter who earned District MVP honors in 2024 with 2,841 passing yards, 1,126 rushing yards and 45 total touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Halston Haile (Hamilton, LB)

Haile (5'10, 180) was one of the star's of Hamilton's deepest playoff run in school history. He rushed for 1,044 yards and 18 touchdowns, but earned District Utility Player of the Year for his linebacker prowess.

6-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: HD Davis (Wolfe City, RB)

Davis (6'0, 205) is the Class 2A Coverboy in Dave Campbell's TexasFootball magazine and a Preseason Class 2A All-State pick. The Kansas State commit rushed for 2,789 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Jake David (Tioga, DB)

David (6'0, 165) led Tioga in tackles as a sophomore with 135 stops and four interceptions. The First Team All-District selection is one of seven returning starters on defense for the defending district champions. 

7-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Levi Leathers (Axtell, QB)

Leathers (6'4, 190) was limited to three games as a sophomore due to injury. Coach Craig Horns says the junior can, "see the entire field and make all the throws."

Preseason Defensive MVP: Anthony Zepeda (Rio Vista, LB)

Zepeda was the District's Defensive MVP with 11 tackles and 12 tackles for loss as the Eagles made the playoffs. 

8-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Trent Harris (Corsicana Mildred, RB)

Harris (5'10, 182) was the District's Defensive Newcomer of the Year, but he's the Preeseason Offensive MVP pick because he led Mildred in rushing and receiving yards (1,814 total yards and 25 touchdowns).

Preseason Defensive MVP: AJ Donnell (Frankston, DB)

Donnell (6'2, 175) headlines a loaded skill position group for a Frankston team that went 8–4 last season. He earned First Team All-District wide receiver with 480 rushing yards, 915 receiving yards and 17 total touchdowns. He holds offers from North Texas and Texas Tech

9-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Ryelan Morris (Honey Grove, RB)

Morris (5'11, 180), a Stanford commit, totaled 1,871 yards and 30 touchdowns in just seven games of action. The Preseason Class 2A All-State utility player is the No.39-overall prospect in the DCTX Hot 100. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Tyler Hoskison (Cooper, DL)

Hoskison (6'4, 210), "has been a tremendous player at the DE position," says Coach Rod Castorena. He posted 83 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble in a First Team All-District season. 

10-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Jorden Prince (Beckville, RB)

Prince (5'11, 180) is an "elite competitor" and returning captain for Coach Cody Ross. He earned District Offensive MVP with 2,132 and 37 touchdowns in 2024. The Preseason All-State running back holds seven offers from the likes of Texas Tech, Houston and Arkansas.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Joe Irving (Waskom, DB)

Irving (5'10, 181) was the District's Defensive MVP with 85 tackles, eight tackles for loss and an interception. He also added 600 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns at slot back. 

11-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Cooper Bragg (Joaquin, RB)

Bragg (6'0, 170) had 881 all-purpose yards as a sophomore and should be a big-play threat for Joaquin in his junior campaign. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Avery Yarbrough (Garrison, LB)

Yarbrough (5'8, 148) was a First Team All-District running back who combined shiftiness and power for 1,155 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. He was also a Second Team All-District linebacker. 

12-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Amarius Phillips (Centerville, RB)

Phillips (5'10, 175) earned District Overall Co-MVP in his sophomore season with 1,629 rushing yards with 9.81 yards per carry. He'll be the offensive weapon for Centerville as the program looks to make the playoffs for the 15th time in 16 years. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Derrick Reagie (Corrigan-Camden, DL)

Reagie (6'2, 205) had 1,756 rushing yards with 55 tackles and three sacks as a junior. Coach Brett Ratliff says Reagie is the, "Heart and soul of the team. No one outworks him ever!"

13-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Pryce Rabroker (Rosebud-Lott, QB)

Rabroker (6'3, 175) led Rosebud-Lott to its third playoff appearance in four years as a sophomore, totaling 2,108 yards and 26 touchdowns in a First Team All-District season. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Brysen Steele (Marlin, DL)

Steele (6'1, 300) is the Class 2A Preseason Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 104 tackles and 33 tackles for loss. 

14-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Luke Tharp (San Saba, QB)

Coach Andreas Aguirre says Tharp (5'10, 185) has, "a champion mindset and a great work ethic." He helped San Saba double its win total from 2023 to 2024 as a sophomore, earning District Offensive Newcomer of the Year with 1,889 rushing yards, 781 passing yards and 29 total touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Kale Meadors (Thorndale, LB)

Meadors (6'0, 195) earned First Team All-District linebacker as a sophomore as Thorndale bounced back from a winless season in 2023 to go 8–4. He had 86 solo tackles, 81 assisted tackles and eight quarterback pressures. 

15-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Jerron Fisher (Weimar, RB)

Fisher (5'9, 170) was a two-way First Team All-District selection. He had 1,300 rushing yards on offense but can play every position on the field. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Logan Bures (Ganado, DB)

Bures is a Preaseason Class 2A All-State selection at defensive back. He had 1,398 rushing yards and 21 total touchdowns as a sophomore on Ganado's state championship team.

 

16-2A DI

Preseason Offensive MVP: Miguel Alaniz (Santa Maria, QB)

Alaniz (5'7, 140) was a First Team All-District quarterback selection with 1,048 passing yards and 368 rushing yards. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Zander Wills (Refugio, LB)

Wills (5'11, 185) was the District's Defensive MVP with 130 tackles and will be the defensive leader for a Refugio team looking to make it to the regional finals for the 18th time in 19 seasons. He is a Preseason Class 2A All-State selection at linebacker.

1-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Briggs Satterfield (Gruver, QB)

Satterfield (6'1, 170) was the District's Offensive MVP in Gruver's state semifinals run. He put up 3,919 total yards and 55 touchdowns. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Chase Lantelme (Stratford, DB)

Lantelme (6'1, 170) was a First Team All-District quarterback in 2024 with 1,675 total yards but he also had 78 total tackles and nine interceptions.

2-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Caleb Groetken (Sudan, QB)

Groetken (6'0, 195) threw for 1,343 yards and 17 touchdowns and was also Sudan's leading rusher with 756 yards and seven touchdowns. He was a First Team All-District selection. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Ryan Mesquite (Hale Center, LB)

Mesquite (5'8, 155) is a leader on both sides of the ball for Hale Center, who won its first district championship in 39 years last season. He was a First Team All-District wide receiver and a unanimous First Team All-District outside linebacker with 65 tackles, nine tackles for loss and an interception.

3-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Dante Garcia (Tahoka, ATH)

Garcia (5'10, 170) was a Second Team All-District running back selection in 2024 who could be in the mix for quarterback as a senior. He will also start on defense, where he posted 48 tackles and three tackles for loss. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Kaden Riker (Ropes, LB)

Riker (6'3, 185) is a Preseason Class 2A All-State selection coming off a District Defensive MVP season with 200 tackles, 45 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.

4-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kemyd Faciane (Wink RB)

Faciane (5'10, 190) was a First Team All-District selection 2,002 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns. Coach Brian Gibson calls him the heartbeat of the offense. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Prather Schneemann (Iraan, DB)

Schneemann (5'10, 170) led Iraan to its best season since 2018 at quarterback with 2,604 passing yards and 31 touchdowns. He'll also be a presence in the secondary.

5-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Callen Kane (Wellington, QB)

Kane threw for 1,794 yards and 25 touchdowns as a sophomore, leading Wellington to a 9–3 record while earning District Co-Newcomer of the Year. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Jackson Graves (Wheeler, DL)

Graves (6'4, 240) is a Preseason Class 2A All-State pick after totaling 108 tackles, 51 tackles for loss 18 sacks and three fumble recoveries as a junior. He'll help Wheeler build on its best season in six years.  

6-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Brock Belcher (Windthorst, QB)

Belcher (6'0, 181) returns for his third season as the starter after winning District Offensive MVP with 3,395 total yards and 47 touchdowns. He leads a Windthorst team that's projected to repeat as district champions. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Brodie Jackson (Petrolia, DB)

Jackson (5'10, 170) was a First Team All-District running back who also posted 41 tackles and two interceptions from the safety spot. He was a critical piece to Petrolia's surprise playoff run. 

7-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Jace Arnwine (Roscoe, QB)

Arnwine (5'9, 170) is one of the leaders in a loaded senior class for Roscoe. He threw for 1,688 yards and 16 touchdowns in a Second Team All-District season.  

Preseason Defensive MVP: Huffman Heatley (Albany, DB)

Heatley (6'0, 170) was a First Team All-District receiver last year with 686 yards and seven touchdowns. Those ball skills translate to the defensive side. 

8-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Casen Carney (Muenster, QB)

Carney (5'9, 165) is a Preseason Class 2A All-State quarterback after leading Muenster to a state championship victory over Shiner. He had 3,163 passing yards and 34 touchdowns with 1,600 yards and 32 touchdowns on the ground.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Russell Carney (Collinsville, DL)

Collinsville will contend for a regional title with Carney (6'0, 210) on the defensive line. He was a First Team All-District selection with 68 tackles, seven tackles for loss and five sacks. 

9-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Jonathan Morgan (Clarksville, QB)

Morgan (6'0, 200) earned District Offensive MVP honors with 3,213 total yards and 45 touchdowns. He is one of nine returning starters on offense for Clarksville. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Huntley Ott (Maud, LB)

Ott (5'11, 190) was the District's Newcomer of the Year was a freshman with 900 yards of total offense. 

10-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Aidyn Lee (Goldthwaite, QB)

Lee (5'10, 165) led Goldthwaite to more wins last season (7–5 record) than the last two seasons combined. He earned First Team All-District with 1,011 passing yards, 607 rushing yards and 22 total touchdowns.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Tank Scott (Bremond, LB)

Scott (5'7, 160) was the District Co-MVP with 1,954 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns to go with 191 tackles on defense. He leads a Bremond defense that returns all 11 starters. 

11-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Kaegan Ash (Mount Enterprise, RB)

Ash (6'0, 205) is a four-year starter with 6,820 career yards and 96 touchdowns. He is one of two 1,000-yard rushers in Mount Enterprise's backfield (Aadin Alsup). 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Barrett Stauffer (Lovelady, LB)

Stauffer (6'1, 195) is a physical presence on both sides of the ball for Lovelady. He earned First Team All-District wide receiver and is a dynamic linebacker alongside Lane Wilson. 

12-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Elijah Milton (Deweyville, RB)

Milton (6'0, 195) was the District's Offensive MVP with 767 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 11.4 yards per carry, powering Deweyville to a district title. He does not come off the field.

Preseason Defensive MVP: JaKobe Harris (West Sabine, ATH)

Harris (6'2, 185) was a First Team All-District defensive back with 85 tackles in 2024. He has a Texas Tech offer. 

13-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Caleb Hobratsch (Granger, RB)

Hobratsch (5'11, 198) put up 1,918 total yards and 30 touchdowns in a District Offensive MVP season. He and almost every skill player return from a Granger squad that went 9–4 in 2024. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Ryder Biggs (Burton, LB)

Biggs (6'0, 165) led Burton with 103 tackles in his junior season, earning District Newcomer of the Year. 

14-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Chasen Doyal (Junction, QB)

Doyal (6'0, 165) led Junction to its best season in a decade with a 12–2 record and district championship. The four-year starter compiled 1,959 total yards and 29 total touchdowns in a First Team All-District season.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Abel Aguirre (Brackettville, LB)

Aguirre (5'10, 170) was the District Defensive MVP with 66 tackles and 34 tackles for loss. He is one of eight returning starters on Brackettville's defense. 

15-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Quincy Jones (Shiner, RB)

Jones (5'11, 155) was a First Team All-District selection as a sophomore with 1,163 yards and 15 touchdowns on 8.08 yards per carry. 

Preseason Defensive MVP: Braylon Johnson (Falls City, DB)

Johnson (5'11, 170) is a two-time team captain. He had 1,523 rushing yards, 523 passing yards and 32 total touchdowns before an injury in the bidistrict playoff game. He was a First Team All-District cornerback in addition to winning District Offensive Player of the Year. 

16-2A DII

Preseason Offensive MVP: Christian Chapa (Ben Bolt, QB)

Chapa (5'9, 160) broke out as a sophomore with 2,502 yards and 33 touchdowns, earning First Team All-District honors. Coach Mark DelPercio says Chapa has outstanding leadership.

Preseason Defensive MVP: Alfonso Juarez (La Villa, DE)

Juarez (5'10, 150) enters his second year as the starter after posting 37 tackles and 11 sacks as a junior. He was a First Team All-District selection.
