The ESPN SP+ rankings accounts for returning production, recent recruiting success, and recent history. Bill Connelly, the architect of the system, reminds readers that SP+ is a “predictive measure of the most sustainable and predictable aspects of football, not a résumé ranking. These are early offseason power rankings based on information we have been able to gather to date.”

Here are how each of the 13 FBS teams in Texas stack up nationally.
