Former Houston, Manvel QB joins Rhett Lashlee's staff at SMU

First reported by On3's Billy Embody, former Houston quarterback D'Eriq King has joined SMU's coaching staff.

King is listed on the team staff page as an offensive analyst. He played under head coach Rhett Lashlee when Lashlee was a offensive coordinator at Miami from 2020 to 2021. Most recently, he was playing in the XFL for the DC Defenders. A product of Manvel, King threw for over nearly 3,000 yards his final season in Houston in 2019.
