Notes: Perfection is hard to achieve. The Roadrunners found that out in a disappointing loss on the road to North Texas. UTSA hosts Western Kentucky for the C-USA championship on Friday night.

Record: 10 - 2
Notes: A win over Texas Tech and a win by Oklahoma State in Bedlam allowed the Bears a spot in the Big 12 championship game on Saturday morning in Arlington.

4.Texas A&M Aggies
Record: 8 - 4
Notes: Texas A&M finished the regular season with four in-conference losses in a season that started with College Football Playoff aspirations.

5.SMU Mustangs

Notes: SMU went 1-4 down the stretch of the season as Sonny Dykes was courted, and eventually left, for crosstown rival TCU.

Notes: Hats off to Seth Littrell and the Mean Green. North Texas ended the regular season on a five-game winning streak to become bowl eligible despite a 1-6 start.

Notes: The Miners won five game from 2017 through 2020. UTEP won seven games in 2021 and are headed to a bowl game.

8.Texas Tech Red Raiders

Notes: The Red Raiders reached bowl eligibility despite firing head coach Matt Wells in the middle of the season. New head coach Joey McGuire will take the extra practices.

Notes: The Longhorns snapped a six-game losing streak with a home win over Kansas State. It's an important off-season for Steve Sarkisian and his staff because the roster simply isn't good enough.

Notes: TCU welcomed Sonny Dykes as its new head coach during a Tuesday morning press conference. The former SMU head man is putting together an elite recruiting staff.
