Five-star Lake Belton 2024 WR Micah Hudson (6'0, 195) is the highest-rated commitment in Texas Tech history, so it was a big deal when he officially visited Texas A&M last weekend.

Why did he decide to take the visit, and where does he stand with his commitment to the Red Raiders?

"I just want to be able to still have those relationships because you never know what could go wrong, but I'm still 100% locked in (with Texas Tech) -- just being able to go watch a football game and things like that, being able to take my family up there, my mom had never been to A&M, so I just wanted her to go see it for herself to see how it went."

"You know, it was a good game and just being able to get up there and see what else they had to say to me and things like that and also test Tech out a little bit to see if they are still going to stay the same, and of course, they did, just like I knew they would. That is also something that has really got me because they are just so committed to me like I am with them."

Hudson was all about the football and the atmosphere for the Aggies tilt versus Alabama.

"There were about 109,000 people there," Hudson said of the crowd.

"Really just seeing them play as a team (stood out), playing against 'Bama. Last year, they played pretty good, and this year just seeing if they could do that same thing again. Penalties really bit them, but it was a good game. The offense did their thing; they didn't have their starting quarterback, but Evan (Stewart) did his thing by making plays. The D-line was playing good. That is what really stood out to me."

Despite the allure of Texas A&M, Hudson's commitment to Texas Tech remains as steadfast as ever. He's been particularly impressed with the unwavering support the Tech coaching staff has shown him throughout the recruiting process.

"I let them know when I got back how the visit went and things like that, so I am always going to keep it one hundred with them, and they are always going to keep it one hundred with me," Hudson said. "I got nothing to hide, and they don't got nothing to hide from me."

Hudson reports that he will be in Lubbock for this weekend's matchup versus Kansas State and that "no more official visits" are scheduled.

Lake Belton (6-1) is set to square off versus Granbury (3-3) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. CST.
