Boy, howdy. It's been a year of absolute success for Sonny Dykes and Co.

The Horned Frogs are set to play for the College Football National Championship and just signed its first-ever Top 20 recruiting class, checking in at No. 19 in the 247Sports Composite.

It's worth mentioning that TCU is also a hotspot for top transfer portal talent. OT Tommy Brockermeyer (Alabama), WR Jojo Earle (Alabama), CB Avery Helm (Florida) and TE Jack Bech (LSU) have all issued commitments.

Three Key Additions

Who were the highest-rated signees or prospects who might come in and make a significant impact?

DT Markis Deal (6'5, 290) - Garland Naaman Forest: The DCTF four-star is the No. 2 rated DT in the state. Deal was a major addition as he was considering offers from coast-to-coast. Powerful at the point of attack, Deal also starred on the offensive line, but he plans to concentrate his efforts on defense as he transitions to college.

RB Cameron Cook (5'10, 180) - Round Rock Stony Point: You will be hard-pressed to find a more well-rounded running back. Cook is an excellent receiver out of the backfield--a prospect with tremendous footwork, balance, and explosiveness.

WR Cordale Russell (6'2, 180) - North Mesquite: Russell's signing could not come at a more opportune time as the offense will need a big playmaker to step in and fill the shoes of Quentin Johnston. The DCTF four-star is exactly that type of player. Big, strong, and ready to play.

Fan Favorite

What prospect was a fan favorite on social media or a local hero who starred near the campus?

OG Brione Ramsey-Brooks (6'4, 405) - South Oak Cliff: One of the most intimidating figures I've covered. "Bubba" towers over the competition and obliterates anyone in his path.

Super Sleeper

We pick one prospect on the commit list and explain how he might outplay his ranking in college.

S/OLB Javeon Wilcox (6'1, 185) - Lake Belton: Earned the nickname "Boom" for his ability to deliver big hits. A new-age safety who will likely spend most of his time in the box, giving the defense a valuable weapon to combat the pass and the run.
