Several college programs have liked what John Paul II OC Caden Kitler (6-3, 290) has been doing on the field. And while he lines up at the tackle position in high school, he is projected to play center in college.
The 2022 prospect has already begun to reel in offers and interest from a number of programs.
“Right now I have offers from Houston, Illinois State and New Mexico. I would have to say that right now, Houston stands out,” Kitler said. “It’s a program that’s close to home, and historically, it is a great football team. My uncle has told me great things about the program and I look forward to looking into the program more.”
Kitler said that he frequently connects with the Houston coaches, with some FaceTime contacts before the games, to get a closer look at the stadium. With this constant contact and “Twitter love,” Kitler expressed excitement and has the Cougars as an early fave.
Other programs from across the country have begun checking in with him as well. Kitler said that he is open to more interest that is coming his way.
“Arizona State is a big one that has contacted me. Kansas and SMU have also reached out,” Kitler said. “I would say of these schools, SMU coaches reach out to me the most. The (SMU) coaches said they want to see me in person, and I think they will once the dead period is over.”
It is his versatility and physicality that Kitler said makes him a wanted prospect. He said the strength of his game is his pass-pro techniques and his ability to get out on the lead blocks on screens.
