Allen 2026 ATH Caleb "Jet" Smith (5'9, 155) burst onto the Texas high school football scene as a freshman logging varsity reps on one the state's most talent-laden teams.

"It was a cool experience," Smith said. "You know, first game we played St. John's and everyone was there. The band was playing, and everybody was cheering. It was just a good experience for me for my first game for high school football."

His 10.57 100-meter speed sets him apart and helps him earn the nickname 'Jet.'

"It was a while back (when I was) like eight or seven years old," Smith explained about how his nickname originated. "I was young, young. I was just using my speed against everybody. My dad wanted me to have a nickname. We came up with 'Jet.' We had a few other options, but 'Jet' was like the main topic, and we went from there."

Smith is talented enough to be considered a D1 prospect at wide receiver or cornerback.

"I mostly have speed," Smith answered about his strengths. "So on offense; I can give you my speed, agility, I can run good routes and I have good hands. For defense, I'm a patient DB. If I get beat deep, which probably won't happen, I can catch up and deflect the ball easily."

Recruiting began early for Smith, who picked up his first P5 offer when he was in middle school.

"Utah was my first offer in seventh or eighth grade," Smith said.

"It was cool. I had a track meet. Right after my track meet, my dad was on the phone and then I got to talk to the Utah coach. It was a pretty cool experience."

Smith also has in-state offers from Texas Tech and UIW. The Red Raiders offer made a big impact with him.

"Tech was probably my huge offer so far," Smith informed. "I got that right before the season. That was a huge accomplishment for me."

With over three years of high school left, Smith is just getting started. Get ready to hear his name.

"Hopefully, more offers will come my way," Smith said.

Smith was named to the Class of 2026 Texas Top 25 in DCTF Rising Magazine.
