Baylor suffered a significant setback when four-star QB Austin Novosad elected to ink with Oregon, marking the second year in a row that Baylor did not sign a  prep quarterback.

Still, BU signed a quality class that checks in at No. 29 in the 247Sports Composite.

The class boasts eight members of the DCTF Hot 100, and as always, the Baylor staff did an admirable job of securing quality prospects in the Lone Star State and mixing them with some out-of-state finds.

Three Key Additions

Who were the highest-rated signees or prospects who might come in and make a significant impact?

OT Isaiah Robinson (6'7, 285) - Arlington Lamar:  Robinson is rated as a DCTF four-star and is the No. 1 OT in the DCTF Hot 100. Robinson had an impressive offseason before his senior year, earning OL MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete Top 100 Showcase and the Under Armour All-America Camp. Possesses an 84-inch wingspan and the athletic upside to develop into an all-conference talent.

ATH Bryson Washington (5'11, 200) - Franklin: Washington helped guide Franklin to back-to-back state titles, so he has a winning pedigree. The No. 3 rated ATH in the DCTF Hot 100 could realistically play safety or running back in college, as he possesses a P5 skillset at both positions.

WR Micah Gifford (6'2, 185) - Pflugerville Weiss: Gifford slid under the radar early in his recruitment, but his vertical playmaking ability is second to none. He is a red zone weapon who uses his strong hands to naturally pluck the ball out of the air over the top of defenders.

Fan Favorite

What prospect was a fan favorite on social media or a local hero who starred near the campus?

ATH Dawson Pendergrass (6'3, 210) - Mineola: Pendergrass makes plays all over the field and attacks the game with the type of vigor that college football fans will quickly fall in love with. Baylor notes it signed him as a RB.

Super Sleeper

We pick one prospect on the commit list and explain how he might outplay his ranking in college.

CB Levar Thornton Jr. (6'2, 170) - Keller Timber Creek:  An athletic prospect who's ranginess, length, and quick-twitch will have coordinators fighting over where to play him., but we like him best in the secondary.
