Zion Childress, a sophomore safety, announced his intentions to transfer out of the Texas State program in a Twitter post. Childress is a native of New Caney who started six games as a nickel back in 2020 and eight times in 2021. He was third on the team last year with 74 tackles and was one of only three Bobcats to record an interception. Childress was considered by many as the most talented player in Texas State’s secondary.
