Three Key Additions

Who were the highest-rated signees or prospects who might come in and make a significant impact?

DE Landyn Watson - Hutto: Watson was one of the state's most heavily pursued defensive prospects. He secured 30 offers throughout his recruitment. The defensive end hybrid is a willing and able tackler who plays downhill. Ball carriers rarely escape his grasp.

RB Ahmonte Watkins - Klein Forest: Watkins, who transferred to Klein Forest from Riverside Academy in Louisiana, is known for his blistering speed. He was the state champion in the 100-meter (10.71) and 200-meter (21.71) in 2019. He is one of the most exciting ball carriers in the nation.

DE Chris Murray - Wichita Falls Hirschi: Murray is a defensive end prospect who loves to pin his ears back and rush the passer. That being said, he is not a one-trick pony because he can effectively sniff out the runs. He has the size to take on blocks and finishes tackles with a fiery attitude.

Hometown Hero

What prospect was a fan favorite on social media or a local hero who starred near the campus?

TE Jasper Lott: Lott is a well-rounded tight end prospect who has the size that colleges look for in the position. We love his in-line ability to set the edge in the run game and work in the middle of the field as a pass-catcher. His father (John Lott) is the head strength and conditioning coach for the San Diego Chargers.

Super Sleeper

We pick one prospect on the commit list and break down how he might outplay his ranking in college.

CB Marvin Covington - Mansfield Lake Ridge: A strong senior season helped colleges identify Covington as a prospect on the rise. He is a cornerback who has the size to match up well with taller wide receivers. He is continuing to make strides in his development but shows impressive flashes on tape.
