Multiple sources have confirmed to Dave Campbell's Texas Football that Rockport-Fulton is looking for a new head football coach after the resignation of Jacob Bible, who spent just over a year in South Texas.

Bible, who came to South Texas after a brief stint on staff at Midlothian Heritage, had been part of two state championship teams on staff at Aledo High School. He also has spent two seasons as head coach at Kermit and one as the head coach at Venus.

The Pirates, who are moving down to Class 4A-Division II, struggled a year ago, posting a 2-9 record; they were able to sneak into the playoffs as the fourth-place team before falling to Alice in the first round of the playoffs.

There's a bit of uncertainty in the district, as Rockport-Fulton ISD is also searching for a new superintendent. That leadership void may impact the timeline for Bible's replacement.

Prior to Bible's hiring, Rockport-Fulton had plenty of stability in the head coaching position. Jay Seibert, who resigned in February 2023 to take over the same position at Sweeny, was the Pirates head coach from 2014-2022.
