Wichita Falls High offensive coordinator Jason Reynolds has been named the next athletic director/head football coach at Natalia High School, Natalia ISD announced on Monday.

Reynolds replaces Ilyan Martinez, who departed a couple of weeks ago to take over as Floresville’s head coach.

Reynolds, who is a native of Abilene and a graduate of Angelo State University, is familiar with Natalia as he spent three seasons as the Mustangs offensive coordinator from 2018-2020 and helped NHS advance to the area round of the playoffs in 2020.

“The kids at Natalia are some of the best kids I’ve ever got to work with," Reynolds said. "They work extremely hard and it’s a place I am excited to come back to because we enjoyed our time so much here. The community is tight-knit and extremely supportive. I’m excited to get going, having been there at Natalia and knowing a lot of the kids and how things operate in the school building will make the transition much smoother."

Reynolds, who was slated to become the offensive coordinator at Wichita Falls Legacy High School after consolidation in WFISD, has spent the last three seasons as Old High’s offensive coordinator and was part of the staff that helped the Coyotes advance to the 4A-Division I Regional Final in 2022.

Reynolds’ first coaching stop out of college was at San Angelo Lake View where he spent seasons on staff.
