This series spotlights the five highest-rated college football prospects who played for the Longview Lobos over the last 14 recruiting cycles as rated on DCTF (2012-24).  

1. Jalen Hale - No. 2 WR - Class of 2023

As the state's No. 7 prospect overall, Hale had a prolific TXHSFB career, collecting 3,165 yards and 41 touchdowns to appear in the Under Armour All-America Game. Hale signed with Alabama and made an immediate impact during his freshman season, playing in 13 games and securing 148 yards and a touchdown.

2. Taylor Tatum - No. 1 RB - Class of 2024

As the state's No. 11 prospect overall, Tatum was one of the most heavily offered prospects in the state. With 59 career rushing touchdowns, he is the Lobos' all-time rushing touchdowns leader. The four-star signed with Oklahoma over Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and others. He plans to play football and baseball for the Sooners.

3. Haynes King - No. 2 QB - Class of 2020

As the state's No. 12 prospect overall, King helped lead the Lobos to a state championship win during his junior season. Throughout his prep career, he passed for 7,910 yards, rushed for 1,408 yards and scored 107 touchdowns. The four-star was selected as the cover boy for Dave Campbell's Texas Football Rising magazine. King signed with Texas A&M and contributed to the Aggies for three seasons but only exhausted one year of eligibility before transferring to Georgia Tech, where he had a tremendous 2023 season, passing for 2,755 yards and 26 TDs and rushing for 648 yards and nine TDs. The son of Lobos' head coach, John King, still has two years of NCAA eligibility remaining.

4. Zaycoven Henderson - No. 2 DT - Class of 2014

As the state's No. 24 prospect overall, Henderson signed with Texas A&M, where he played all four seasons, playing in 47 games throughout his college career, collecting 21.5 TFLs and 8.5 sacks. 

5. JaMycal Hasty - No. 8 RB - Class of 2015

As the state's No. 43 prospect overall, Hasty retained his lofty ranking despite suffering from an injury-shortened senior season. He had a productive career at Baylor. His 1,998 rushing yards are the 12th most in program history. His 485 receiving yards are the 10th most by a BU running back in school history and his 79 career receptions are the second-most by a BU running back in program history. Hasty has played for the San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars.
