East Bernard is searching for a new head football coach after Wade Bosse stepped down after eight seasons to take a position in East Bernard ISD administration.
Bosse led East Bernard to winning seasons in seven of his eight years and posted a 77-23 overall record. He led the Brahmas to the Class 3A-Division II state semifinals in 2018 and 2019; both losses in the semifinals came by one score.
The Brahmas posted double digit wins in Bosse’s first four season. but have fallen back to the pack more recently as the Brahmas have not advanced past the area playoffs and had not posted more than nine wins in a single season, including a disappointing 3-7 mark in 2022.
Bosse also served as a head coach at Needville from 1998-2001 before joining the staff at East Bernard as an assistant coach.
East Bernard will be an attractive job opening because of its past record of success and location relatively close to the city of Houston. However, the Brahmas are projected to be in the one of the state’s toughest 3A-Division II districts with state runner-up Tidehaven and 3A-Division I drop-down Vanderbilt Industrial among others.
