North Texas and new head coach Eric Morris are set to host a press conference Wednesday afternoon and sources close to the program say that he’s added three assistants from Washington State – where Morris served as the offensive coordinator in 2021 – to the Mean Green staff

Sean Brophy, who will likely work with quarterbacks, played quarterback at Incarnate Word for Morris, helping the Cardinals to a Southland Conference title in 2018. He was an assistant wide receivers and quarterbacks coach at UIW in 2021 and an offensive graduate assistant at Washington State last season.

Jordan Davis, who coached at UIW with Morris starting in 2018, is expected to work with the wide receivers. He was promoted to assistant head coach in 2020 and worked as an offensive analyst for Washington State in 2020.

Rolando Surita is expected to serve as Morris’ chief of staff. Surita began his coaching career as a grad assistant at UIW in 2018. He also worked as an operations and player personnel assistant. He was an offensive high school scout during his one year with Morris at Washington State. Surita is a graduate of UTSA.
