After a strong season opening win, Waco Connally was unable to play their annual rivalry game against Waco La Vega after the school district shut down for a few days due to a Covid-19 outbreak. So, there are a lot of questions on how sharp the Cadets will be against a very strong Springtown squad that’s starting to make a case for the top 10 in 4A-Division I.

Brian Hulett’s squad got a hard fought 34-22 win over Graham. The Porcupines fell behind 19-7 at the half, but they rallied outscoring Graham 27-3 in the second half led by Matthew Lockard, who had three catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns, and he added 74 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

Connally’s speed to the edges will be a chore for Springtown to handle, but the Porcupines size up front and dynamic passing game will make them a tough matchup for Connally.

Stepp’s Pick: Springtown by 7
