The SWAC football season has come to an unceremonious end for the Texas schools due to COVID-19.

The Texas Southern vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff game was cancelled due to quarantining and contact tracing TSU athletes for COVID-19. Additionally, Prairie View A&M vs. Deion Sanders' Jackson State team was cancelled after COVID issues at JSU.

Additionally, an out-of-state game vetween Alabama A&M and Mississippi Valley State was also cancelled. The decision means that the abbreviated seasons for both Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M have come to an end.

Texas Southern finished the spring SWAC schedule with a 1-2 record, with the lone credited win coming via forfeit by Alcorn State, who opted out of the spring season. Prairie View A&M sits with a 2-1 record after wins over Texas Southern and Grambling State to open the year. Both schools had three matchups cancelled by COVID.
