COLLEGE STATION — Cody Black's interception stopped Navasota's bid for a go-ahead touchdown and Crane won the Division II FSN Southwest 7-on-7 Championship Friday at Kyle Field, 38-27.

Black picked off Jacolby Stokes' pass at the Crane goal line. Two laterals later, Lloyd Chisum returned the ball the length of the field for the final touchdown as the game ended.

The Golden Cranes, who finished second in the inaugural 3A-2A-1A championship game last season, closed the first half with a similar play. Chisum had an interception and pitched back to Jordan Mendoza, who scored. It was one of two interceptions by Chisum.

Crane built a 26-13 lead when Chisum, the tournament MVP, threw to Justin Carrasco for a touchdown on the opening possession of the second half.

Navasota rallied with a pair of touchdown throws from Stokes to Brandall Jackson, who cut in front of Black for a score that gave the Rattlers a 27-26 lead.

Chisum hit Jordan Cavazos with a scoring pass over the middle as Crane regaind a 32-27 lead.
