Texas Lutheran coach Neal LaHue made a concerted effort to mainly play young players during his second season at TLU in 2023. While that choice led to a disappointing season, he believes the experience will benefit the Bulldogs in 2024 after five losses were by 10 points or less.

“We got better as the season went along, but we have to learn how to finish,” LaHue said. “The key for us isn’t necessarily playing at a high level but at a consistent level. We had too many ups and downs last season.”

LaHue said the Bulldogs are setting high goals for 2024.

“It’s our third year,” LaHue said. “It’s our third year here, and we’ve had two good offseasons and spring workouts. We have as good a shot as anybody in the league this year.”
