Texas A&M landed a commitment from Katy Paetow 2025 CB Deyjhon Pettaway (5'10, 175) over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Ole Miss.

"1000% committed SEC will be dealt with," Pettaway posted.

Pettaway is rated as the No. 11 prospect in the 2025 DCTF Rising Hot 100, making him one of the most coveted prospects nationally.

Scouting Report: Pettaway has attracted offers from powerhouse programs nationwide because he boasts world-class speed that has been verified on the track with a 10.6 100-meter time. A smooth backpedal and lightning-fast transitions in and out of breaks highlight his technique. He showcased big-hitting ability while playing safety in 2023, proving that he is a defender who can play tight coverage and tackle well in space.

"We call him two-step sometimes because he is so fast," said Katy Paetow head coach David Hicks, the father of Texas A&M DL DJ Hicks.

"He was a 10.60 100-meter guy as a freshman. He's got great leadership. He is going to be here in the morning time, he is going to be here after school, he makes good grades -- he's special."

Pettaway is the younger brother of Texas A&M linebacker Daymion Sanford.
