Argyle 2023 three-star offensive tackle Wes Tucker is excited to make his commitment with the Baylor Bears known.

The 6-foot-5, offensive lineman feels that Dave Aranda's program is the right spot for him for many reasons.

“I just love Baylor because of the coaches and the culture of the program.” Tucker said. “It’s a very healthy and beneficial environment to be apart of.”

Tucker had plenty of other options, notably Texas Tech, San Diego State and Colorado State. But he's confident in his decision to head to Waco.

“I’m committing now because I’ve been thinking about this decision for a while”, he said. “I’m certain this is where I want and need to be.”

It's been a long journey to get to this point. Tucker suffered a shoulder injury early during his junior season. He had surgery in October and says he is back to 100 percent.

Now his attention is focused on leading the Eagles to a deep playoff run in 2022. Argyle went 11-2 a season ago, a year after going 16-0 and winning state.

“My goals for the season are a district championship and a deep playoff run.” Tucker said. “I hope to make a first team all-state and be district offensive linemen of the year.”

In between weeks of demolishing opposing linemen on Friday nights, Tucker said he'll be down in Waco for several games, including against Oklahoma State and Kansas State.
