Multiple sources have confirmed to Dave Campbell's Texas Football that Soccoro ISD will name El Paso Chapin head coach Ryan Warner as the next head football coach at El Paso Pebble Hills High School.

Warner replaces Mark Torres, who departed last month to take over at Buda Hays Consolidated High School just outside of Austin. The news was first reported by Colin Deaver of KTSM-TV in El Paso.

Warner, who graduated from Chapin and played college football at Eastern Oregon, was named head coach at his alma mater in January 2020. In four seasons at the helm, Warner posted a 22-19 overall record, including a 9-3 mark in 2021. He led the Huskies to the playoffs in all four seasons, including 2020 when Covid restrictions in El Paso limited his team to just seven games.

Warner began his coaching career at El Paso Franklin where he coached for 10 seasons, moving up to offensive coordinator in 2015. Ironically enough, Warner replaced Mark Torres, who was previously Franklin’s offensive coordinator before leaving to start up the Pebble Hills program.

Warner's last day at Chapin per reports is expected to be Friday April 5 and he is expected to begin his tenure at Pebble Hills on April 8.
