2025 ATH Zaylen Cormier (5'11, 175) is set for a big senior season after securing Newcomer of the Year honors and leading Houston Heights to an 8-4 record in 2023.

Cormier is a two-way threat who has racked up nine offers (Arizona State, Arkansas State, Marshall, McNeese State, Memphis, Mississippi State, Texas State, Tulsa and UTEP).

"Some schools want me strictly at safety, and some schools are recruiting me both ways," said Cormier, who, as a junior, collected 34 receptions for 763 yards, 12 touchdown receptions, 27 tackles and two interceptions.

"I am an explosive guy. I am all around the field. I play both ways. I am shifty. It is really just all about my explosion."

The Bulldogs have collected a 16-8 record the past two seasons under the direction of Head Coach Stephen Dixon, who Cormier loves playing for.

"It's great playing under coach Dixon," Cormier said. "He's a real cool dude. He gives great advice. He coaches us hard. He just teaches us how to be better young men."

On the recruiting front, Cormier is just starting to understand his favorite programs, but he has received a P4 offer from Arizona State and plans to visit the campus this spring.

"They told me about their offensive and defensive schemes," Cormier said. I am just seeing how they would use me and how I would fit in that program."

Cormier informed us that Tulsa keeps in contact with him the most. He plans to make spring visits to Arkansas State and LSU.

Cormier is rated as a DCTF three-star.
