San Antonio Brennan offensive coordinator Nate Shaw has been tabbed as the next head football coach at San Antonio Churchill, according to North East ISD.

He replaces Ron Harris, who announced his retirement at the end of the season.

“Churchill is a school with such a great tradition in athletics across the board," Shaw said. "Observing them from afar, I felt like there was plenty of potential."

Shaw, a native of Austin and graduate of Austin Anderson, played his college ball at UTSA. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Roadrunners and then moved on Eastern Michigan where he was also a graduate assistant.

He made his way back to San Antonio in 2016 where he joined the staff at Brennan, which is where he has spent the past eight seasons, including the last four as the Bears offensive coordinator.

"Going through the interview process, what stood out to me the most was great leadership on campus and at the district level,” said Shaw, who doesn’t have an official start date at the moment. “I am ready to go right now, I want to get my feet on the ground just as soon as I can.”
