Lamar Consolidated ISD on Sunday named Richmond Randle assistant coach Casey Vogt as the next head football coach at Richmond George Ranch where he'll replace Nick Cavallo, who departed to take over as the head coach at Katy Morton Ranch.

The vast majority of Vogt’s coaching experience is at the college level where he was an OL coach/offensive coordinator at Mercer from 2013-2020. He served as the offensive line coach at Colgate University from 2007-2010, and coached tight ends at Youngstown State in 2005-2006. Vogt served as an assistant coach at Division II Gannon University in 2004.

Vogt spent one year as a graduate assistant at Tulane after his playing days at Slippery Rock wrapped up.

In 2021, Vogt moved to the high school ranks when he took over as head coach at Dacula High School, a school with an enrollment of just under 2,500 located Northeast of Atlanta. He led the Falcons to a 9-5 record and a trip to the Georgia 6A state semifinals in his first season. After a 3-8 season in 2022, Vogt made the move to Texas for the 2023 season where he joined Brian Randle’s staff at Randle High where the Lions in just their second season posted an impressive 11-2 mark.

Vogt takes over at George Ranch where the Longhorns posted a 9-3 mark a year ago and advanced to the 6A-Division II area playoffs. It was only the program's second playoff win since winning a state title in 2015.
