SMU left tackle Marcus Bryant has entered the transfer portal as a graduate student after starting 29 games over a four-year career. Pete Nakos with On3 Sports was the first to report.

Bryant was an All-American Athletic Conference first team selection and DCTF Second Team All-Texas pick after allowing just one sack as a senior. The 6-foot-8, 318 pound tackle was a two-time first team all-district selection at Round Rock Cedar Ridge who first committed to the program in 2019.

SMU's offensive line ranked first in the AAC in 2023 surrendering just 16 sacks all season. Bryant is now the third starter to leave ahead of the Mustangs' move to the ACC. Hyrin White exhausted his eligibility and center Branson Hickman entered the portal on Jan. 21 after starting 33 games over four seasons.

Sophomore PJ Williams started four games at left tackle in relief of Bryant in 2023 and figures to slide into the role full-time.
