Reports indicate that Houston sophomore wide receiver Matthew Golden plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. In two seasons with the Cougars, racked up 76 receptions for 988 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Golden was rated as a DCTF four-star prospect in the Class of 2022, checking in as the No. 32 prospect and the No. 6 WR.

Golden was the center of transfer speculation in November when former UH head coach Dana Holgorsen reported that he had been approached with "six figures" by unnamed SEC programs.

At the time of his commitment to Houston, Golden was seriously considering programs like LSU and Texas, and he was at one time committed to TCU.
