Prospect on the Rise
McKinney 2024 ILB Jonathan Agumadu (6'1, 215) was named a DCTF three-star after a string showing at the 7-on-7 state qualifier at Northwest.
Agumadu made several interceptions, showcasing that he is a physical specimen who can also be relied on to cover the ground.
On the recruiting front, Agumadu has secured in-state offers from North Texas, SMU and Texas State. Oklahoma State was his second P5 offer (joining Missouri), and he has already scheduled an official visit to see Stillwater (June 14).
Commit of the Week
El Paso Pebble Hills 2024 QB Gael Ochoa (6'2, 185) committed to UTEP.
Ochoa is rated as a DCTF three-star prospect.
Scouting Report: Ochoa is an athlete who is also a quarterback. As a thrower, he can read and diagnose defenses quickly to find the open receiver, often resulting in a big play. He uses his athleticism to move around the pocket and extend plays when needed. Ochoa is a proven weapon as a runner, using a long stride and good top-end speed to rack up yards.
Underclassman of the Week
Fort Bend Marshall 2025 CB Caleb Chester (6'1, 170) is closing in on the 20-offer mark as he secured a new offer from Oregon, bringing his tally to 19.
Chester has been a hot prospect in the spring evaluation period, picking up scholarships from programs like SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Auburn and more.
Chester is the younger brother of Sam Houston DB Jacobe Chester.
Recruit of the Week
Willis 2024 QB DJ Lagway (6'3, 210) accepted an invitation to the Under Armour All-America Game and the Elite 11 Finals.
Lagway completed 134 of 200 passes for 2,081 yards and 24 touchdowns and rushed for 517 yards and seven scores as a junior in 2022.
The Florida commit is a DCTF four-star prospect, checking in at No. 8 overall in the 2024 Rising Hot 100.
