The season isn’t over for Incarnate Word, but the Cardinals are already making moves for the 2022 season. Current head coach G.J. Kinne is headed to Texas State after the conclusion of the FCS playoffs, and he’s taking most of his staff with him. One guy who won’t follow him to San Marcos is Clint Killough, who is remaining behind as the next head coach of the Cardinals, DCTF can confirm.

Killough, 29, is currently the associate head coach, wide receivers coach, and recruiting coordinator for UIW. The Cardinals are 12-1 on the year and face North Dakota State in the FCS semifinals on Friday night in Fargo. He joined the staff in 2018 as a quality control coach with the inside receivers.

Killough began his coaching career at Bowling Green. He’s a San Antonio native that played for UIW for three years. During his college career, Killough caught 54 passes for 692 yards and two touchdowns. He graduated from UIW in 2015.
