TCU landed Sonny Dykes and Dykes landed his first big (off the field) wins by securing star assistant coach Ra'Shaad Samples and recruiting coordinator Bryan Carrington.

Dykes and his crew of young, energetic coaches have helped the Horned Frogs off to a strong start on the recruiting trail.

North Mesquite 2023 WR Cordale Russell (6'2, 180) was the first commitment of the Dykes era, committing to TCU over offers from SMU, Arkansas, Kansas, Minnesota, Tennessee, Utah and more.

The one-time SMU commit is rated as a DCTF four-star prospect, checking in at No. 47 in the DCTF Hot 100.

Russell decommitted from the Mustangs after news surfaced that Dykes would be moving to Fort Worth. He has a tight relationship with Samples, and that played a role in his decision-making process.

"Blessed," Russell said when asked about his TCU commitment. "To be honest, I had visited TCU, and I loved it. It's a place I would love to play at and now that 'Samps' and Dykes are there makes it even better."

Russell was quickly joined on the TCU commit list by Garland 2022 WR Jordan Hudson (6'1, 180)

Hudson was a massive get. To put it in proper perspective, he is the third highest-rated prospect to commit to TCU in the past five years.

Hudson, who spent time on Oklahoma and SMU's commitment lists before pledging to the Horned Frogs, is rated as the No. 17 prospect in DCTF Hot 100.

Hudson had a monster senior season, securing 67 receptions for 1,141 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Scouting Report: Many compare Hudson to former TXHSFB greats, and it is easy to see why. Hudson has got tremendous size, speed and hands. Hudson has terrific field presence and is very difficult to get to the ground after he catches the ball. Was named the 9-6A Offensive Player of the Year.

Here are a few more players for TCU fans to watch closely.

2022 Garland S Chace Biddle (6'0, 190) decommitted from SMU in the wake of the coaching shuffle and also has a great relationship with Dykes and Samples.

2022 Rowlett DE Micheal Ibukun-Okeyode (6'5, 235) is set to take an official visit to TCU this weekend.

2022 South Oak Cliff CB Kyron Chambers (6'0, 190) added an offer from TCU (Chambers is currently committed to Arizona).
