Danaher rewrote the Class 4A state record book in 1995, when he ran for a single-season record 3,562 yards, scored 47 TDs and led the Wildcats to the state semifinals for the third straight year. The two-time all-state running back also set all-class records for career 100-yard games (44), career 200-yard games (20), and single-season 200-yard games (12). Danaher’s amazing run of 12 200-yard games included a string of 10 consecutive games with three consecutive 300-yard games. He also set 4A marks for career rushing (8,855, behind only the legendary Kenneth Hall of Sugar Land in all classes), career TDs (117 -- 114 rushing and three receiving), single-season scoring (282) and career scoring (704). He signed with SMU and spent two seasons with the Mustangs before an injury ended his college career.
