Val Joe Walker Sr. was an all-district selection at running back/safety for Seminole in 1946 and 1947, and an all-state choice as a senior. Walker was alsothe high-point man in the state track meet in 1948, leading Seminole to the Class A state championship by earning 26½ of the team’s 40 points. Walker lettered in football at SMU from 1950-52, leading the Southwest Conference in punt returns as a senior and earning All-SWC honors. In 1952 Walker was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game and the Chicago Tribune College All-Star Game. He played professionally with the Green Bay Packers (1953-1956) and the San Francisco 49ers (1957). Walker died on Jan. 23, 2013.
