Texas High School Football Hall of Fame Inductees: Norman Bulaich

Norman Bulaich

La Marque High School

_

Inducted in 1971

Few players enjoy senior seasons like do-it-all La Marque back Norm Bulaich. The 195-pounder made all-American (SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINE), all-state, all-district; was voted team captain and eventually had his jersey No. 23 retired to the school trophy case. Bulaich had 9.9 sprinter’s speed and used it to great effect, whether bursting 51 yards for a score against Galveston Ball or going 98 against Brazosport. But Bulaich was more than a scoring machine. He also kicked off, punted and played safety on defense. Recruited nationwide, he chose TCU and became an honorable mention all-American in 1969. Drafted in the first round by Baltimore in 1970, he spent 10 NFL seasons with the Colts, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins, running for 3,362 yards, catching 224 passes for 1,766 yards and scoring 41 TDs.
