Max McGee was a 6’3”, 200 lb. fullback who lettered four years for the Roughnecks. His senior season McGee set two state records with 3,048 rushing yards and 17 interceptions. He also had a 43.7-yard punting average and set a school record with 166 points scored. In the 1949 Class B Regional Final, McGee rushed for 338 yards, scored two TDs, passed for a TD and kicked three extra points in a 39-0 victory over Brownsboro. He also helped White Oak win the 1949 Class B state track championship. McGee was a college standout at Tulane from 1951-1953 where he led the team in rushing for three seasons. He starred at end for the Green Bay Packers (1954, 1957-67) and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl in 1961. McGee was named the MVP of Super Bowl I after catching 7 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. He was inducted into the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame in 1975. McGee died on Oct. 20, 2007, at age 75.
