Cecil P. “Honk” Irvin was an all-state tackle for the Cisco Lobos in 1924 and 1925. Coached by Weldon Chapman, the 1924 Loboes had a 10-1-1 record, knocking off Stephenville and Cleburne in the playoffs before losing to eventual state champion Oak Cliff. In 1925 Cisco had a 14-1-2 record. In the playoffs they demolished Colorado and Amarillo by scores of 70-0 and 76-0. After handling Cleburne 14-3, the Lobos lost in the semifinals to Forest 7-0. Irvin played his college football at Davis-Elkins in West Virginia and later played tackle for the New York Giants from 1932-35.
