In news first reported by Kale Steed of Press Pass Sports, Pampa athletic director/head football coach Cody Robinson announced his resignation on Monday after three seasons at the helm for the Harvesters. Robinson is departing Pampa to join the staff at defending Class 4A-Division II state champion Gilmer as an assistant coach.

Robinson, who is an East Texas native, has spent the past few years out in West Texas. Prior to taking over at Pampa, he served as the defensive coordinator under Joe Cluley, who, ironically enough, also made the move east a couple of years ago as he’s now the athletic director/head football coach at Mount Pleasant High School.

Pampa made the playoffs in Robinson’s first two seasons before stumbling in 2023 to a 2-8 mark. In February, Pampa was aligned into a tough Texas Panhandle 4A-Division I district with Canyon, Canyon Randall, Canyon West Plains, Dumas and Hereford.
