After an efficient coaching search that lasted just two weeks, Granger ISD named Cuero offensive coordinator Gaston McDorman as its next AD/HFC on Monday afternoon. He'll replace Stephen Brosch, who was promoted to Granger High principal on February 26.

McDorman is a 16-year veteran of coaching with stints as an assistant coach at Cuero, Georgetown East View, New Diana and Wimberley.

“Coach McDorman is a ready to be a head football coach and athletic director," said Granger ISD superintendent Jeni Neatherlin. "He has a track record of success. From a state championship victory to overcoming the heartbreak of being one game away from the big show, he has been a huge part of winning programs. He understands the blueprint having worked under some fantastic leaders. Education is his family business. He has big shoes to fill, but he brings knowledge from his large school experience to small school to lead the way. I can’t wait to see what he does."

Granger ISD is currently on spring break, but expect McDorman to get to work fairly quickly upon the return from the holiday as Granger has high expectations five playoff wins in the past two seasons.
