Holland ISD on Thursday morning announce the hiring of Skidmore-Tynan head coach Heath Hohman as their next athletic director/head football coach.
He replaces Brad Talbert, who announced his retirement at the end of the 2023 football season.
Hohman has some big shoes to fill as Talbert had an impressive run leading Holland for the past twelve seasons posting a 104-39 record, including a 13-1 mark in 2019.
Hohman led Skidmore-Tynan the past two seasons posting a 6-14 mark with tremendous improvement in 2023 as S-T posted a competitive 4-6 record and just missed out on the playoffs after moving up to 2A-Division I in 2022. Hohman, who is a native of Llano, is a 16-year coaching veteran with stops at Marble Falls and Liberty Hill before landing his first head coaching position in South Texas.
Expect Hohman to install the Slot-T offense in Holland where the Hornets have a lot of potential for community growth in the next few seasons. Holland posted a strong 12-1 campaign a year ago and will be moving to District 14-2A Division I in 2024 paired in a tough district with Mason, Johnson City, San Saba, Thorndale and Harper.
