On Realignment Day, Mesquite Horn got the news that it was being moved to 11-6A, which is known as the "District of Doom' because it boasts talent-rich programs like DeSoto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, Waxahachie, Dallas Skyline and Mesquite. 

With a bevy of D1 prospects on its roster, the Jaguars are optimistic about its chances of making the playoffs and are excited to compete against the best in the state week in and week out. 

Class of 2025

OT Lamont Rogers (6'7, 305): A prototype left tackle with 36 scholarship offers. Rogers is the No. 13 prospect in the 2025 DCTF Rising Hot 100, so he is rated one of the nation's most elite prospects—a two-sport threat who also stars on Horn's basketball team. Rogers recently visited Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma and hopes to visit Missouri and Tennessee in the coming weeks. 

Mesquite Horn Head Coach Courtney Allen on Rogers: "His wingspan is crazy. He's got a seven-foot wingspan already. He's a basketball player, so he's got nimble feet. I've never seen a guy get to the second-level so naturally and quick."

TE Kevin Magera (6'5, 225): UTEP got the ball rolling on Magera's offer parade on Jan. 17, and since then, he has added offers from Marshall, Arkansas State, Houston, Bowling Green and Louisiana Tech. Magera is an aggressive and athletic blocker with significant frame potential.

WR Jamari Andrews (5'11, 175): Horn's leading receiver in 2023 outproduced P5-level talents, cementing himself as a prospect to note. He holds an offer from Grambling and has attention from Baylor, North Texas, SMU, Texas State, Texas Southern and more. 

DB Jace Williams (6'2, 175): Because of his size and length, this second-team all-district defender is an intriguing DB to track heading into the spring evaluation period.

S Markel Ford (6'0, 185): Ford projects as one of the nation's best safety prospects and is already one of the most offered prospects in the state. The DCTF four-star has already secured 25+ scholarship offers, including SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC and more. He was named the 10-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year after collecting 56 tackles, four interceptions and 7 TFLs as a sophomore in 2023. 

CB Ryan Gilbert II (5'11, 175): One of the new year's hottest prospects, Gilbert has secured 13 offers (UTEP, Arizona State, Auburn, Arkansas, Utah, Mississippi State, Colorado State, Houston, Pitt, UCF, Texas State, SMU, UTSA) since the calendar flipped to 2024. Gilbert earned second-team all-district honors as a sophomore in 2023.

QB Legend Bey (5'11, 185): Bey returns to lead the offense after earning second-team all-district honors. The dual-threat has a high level of athleticism that has helped him secure 14 early scholarship opportunities, including Baylor, Houston, TCU, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oregon, and more.  

RB Levon Morton (5'6, 165): Morton is a name to know after rushing for 1,113 yards and nine touchdowns to earn 10-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors. He's an explosive back who runs with authority. 

OT Kole Seaton (6'5, 240): With his size and frame, there is reason to be excited about his potential playing opposite of Rogers on the O-line. It might not be long before he picks up his first offer as schools like North Texas, SMU, and Oklahoma State are showing interest. 

DB/LB Alonzo Welch (6'1, 175): He picked up his first offer from Texas State last spring and will have a chance to step up and contribute to a talented defensive unit.
