BREAKING: Texas 7-on-7 State Tournament Dates, SQTs Announced

What has become an annual rite of passage for Texas High School Football players in the summer will once again return the Brazos Valley this June as the 2024 Texas State 7-on-7 Tournament will be held June 27-29 at Veterans Park in College Station.

The Texas State 7-on-7 Board of Directors also released the schedule of State Qualifying Tournaments (SQTs) where teams will punch their tickets to the State Tournament. The schedule for SQTs is listed below:

The Texas State 7-on-7 Tournament is divided into three divisions:

Division I is comprised  of teams that compete in Class 6A and 5A, plus TAPPS Division I and SPC in the private school ranks

Defending Champion: Round Rock

Division II is comprised of teams that compete Class 4A and 3A DIvision I,  plus all other private school teams

Defending Champion: Hitchcock

Division III is comprised of teams that compete in Class 3A Division II and smaller

Defending Champion: Miles

 

Highlights from the Schedule for Each Division

Division I

*State Qualifying begins April 19 at Melissa

*Anna, Wichita Falls, Flower Mound Marcus Fort Bend Ridge Point and Aldine MacArthur are new host tournaments

*The weekend of June 7-8 will be the busiest weekend of qualifying featuring nine tournaments

*Qualifying wraps up on Saturday June 22 in Weslaco at the last chance Mid-Valley SQT. 

 

Division II

*State Qualifying begins May 11 in Kilgore and Hardin-Jefferson

*LaGrange and Mineral Wells are new host tournaments

*The weekend of May 18-19 and May 31-June 1 will be busiest weekends of qualifying with six tournaments each that weekend

*Qualifying wraps up Saturday June 15 with tournaments at Cameron Yoe and Port Isabel

 

Division III

*State Qualifying begins May 18 with four tournanments at Hawley, Lindsay, Dublin and Wallis Brazos

*Hawley and Daingerfield are new host tournaments

*The weekend of June 7-8 will be the busiest weekend of qualifying featuring five tournaments and that will also be the final weekend of qualifying
