Texarkana Pleasant Grove (12-0) vs. Carthage (12-0), 2 p.m. Friday at Longview’s Pirate Stadium: It’s a top three showdown out in East Texas as Pleasant Grove looks to take down the biggest and baddest bully in Class 4A in top-ranked Carthage, who has the state’s longest winning streak at 28 games.

Pleasant Grove cruised past Caddo Mills 63-10 as Arkansas commit QB Ahkari Johnson passed for four touchdowns and ran for two other scores in the first half before resting in the final two quarters.

Carthage was similarly dominant as the Bulldogs rolled to a 49-7 win over Van Alstyne. Sophomore QB Jett Surratt threw for 280 yards and five touchdowns in the win.

Both teams have totally dominated in the playoffs up to this point. Pleasant Grove’s top five players are better than Carthage’s top five, but Carthage has the depth to wear the Hawks down late.

Stepp’s Pick: Carthage by 4
