Prospect on the Rise

Mansfield Timberview 2025 DB Elijah Pratt (5'11, 165) picked up new offers from Houston and Arizona who join SMU, Central Michigan and Penn State. 

Partt earned first-team all-district honors as a sophomore, racking up 50 tackles, 10 PBUs and 2 fumble recoveries. 

Mansfield Timberview head coach James Brown describes him as "explosive with great ball skills."

Commit of the Week

2024 Duncanville DE Colin Simmons (6'3, 225) committed to Texas over LSU and Miami (FL). 

Simmons is rated as the No. 1 DE and the No. 1 prospect overall in the 2024 DCTF Rising Hot 100. 

Scouting Report: Simmons is a game-altering pass rusher with a rare blend of speed, power, and finesse. He's quick off the ball, has the burst to run around the corner, and can close on the quarterback in a flash. He also has a spin move that leaves offensive linemen in the dust. And if that wasn't enough, Simmons has a motor that doesn't quit.

Additionally, RB Caden Durham and 2025 WR Dakorien Moore both committed to LSU. 

Underclassman of the Week

Dallas Parish Episcopal 2025 QB Sawyer Anderson (6'0, 180) committed to Purdue over offers from SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Arizona State, North Carolina, Oklahoma State and more. 

Anderson has helped lead the Panthers to back-to-back TAPPS Division I state titles. 

Anderson completed 207 of 321 passes for 3,107 yards and 37 touchdowns and rushed for four additional scores as a junior in 2022. 

Recruit of the Week

Clear Springs 2024 OL Blake Ivy (6'4, 280) is set to announce his commitment on Aug. 19 at 10:00 AM on Dave Campbell's Texas Football. 

The four-star road-grater took official visits to Texas, Texas A&M and LSU, and those three schools are considered as the front-runners in his recruitment.
