These are the DCTX picks for the best Division II and Division III performances in the Texas 7-on-7 State Tournament.

Check out Division I HERE.

Overall MVP: Jalen Lott (Frisco Panther Creek, 2026)

Not only was Lott the MVP of this particular tournament, his performance is up there with what current NFL players Garrett Wilson (Lake Travis) and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Rockwall) did in high school. He caught the game-winning touchdown in the championship against Kilgore, along with numerous long touchdowns. Lott ran like a gazelle and elevated like he was on a trampoline, contorting his body in mid-air to adjust for the ball.

Offense

Quarterback: Kale Russell (Tidehaven, 2026)

Russell is already one of the more decorated quarterbacks in TXHSFB as a four-year starter with a 12–3 playoff record, but he added a Texas 7-on-7 State Championship belt to his trophy case over the weekend. Russell showed complete command, calling all the plays and substitutions for an offense that was only held without a touchdown three times in bracket play. He threw five touchdown passes in the championship game against Ganado.

Tight End: Landon Wells (Coahoma, 2026)

Wells (6'3, 210) has a massive catch radius that Coahoma looked for in all the "got to have it" moments over the weekend. Case in point, he caught the touchdown and the two-point conversion that erased Poth's early lead in a 34-13 win. Coahoma made a suprise run to the semifinals in its first-ever trip to College Station.

Wide Receiver: Austen Pena (Ganado, 2026)

Pena was the go-to target for new Ganado quarterback Landyn Arriaga, catching a touchdown pass in the championship game against Tidehaven. As a junior, Pena had 49 receptions for 797 yards and 10 TDs, and he could be in for an even bigger role in 2025 as Ganado looks to replace three wide receivers.

Wide Receiver: Jabari Thornton (Waco La Vega, 2026)

Thornton, an Oklahoma State commit, had 1,367 yards and 15 touchdowns last season in Waco La Vega's run to the state championship. He looked even more dialed-in with quarterback Kourtney Parr Jr. over the weekend. Expect the Pirates to be a threat in Class 4A.

Wide Receiver: Damarcion Blaylock (Tyler Chapel Hill, 2026)

Blaylock missed nine games due to injury last season, but was back to his full 4.28 40-yard dash speed over the weekend. He was dangerous in the intermediate passing game with explosive cuts, while also making a couple of highlight reel grabs on deep shots. Tyler Chapel Hill reached the semifinals.

Wide Receiver: Lakeyleon Graves (Kilgore, 2026)

Graves and Frisco Panther Creek's Jalen Lott were the two most impressive players in Division II, providing an instant classic state championship matchup. Graves had a pick-six to give Kilgore a 13-0 lead, then broke out of Panther Creek's bracket coverage to score a touchdown and two-point conversion as time expired to force overtime.

Wide Receiver: Deshawn Deane (Benbrook, 2026)

Deane caught a Hail Mary as time expired to beat Austin LBJ in the quarterfinals. He was the main target all afternoon for Benbrook's surprise run to the semifinals.

Defense

Linebacker: Isaiah Reed (Hamshire-Fannett, 2027)

Reed showed off his 41-inch vertical against Kingsville when he picked off a pass near the endzone. DCTX Director of Recruiting Greg Powers referred to him as one of the most athletic linebackers, regardless of classification. He holds offers from Baylor, Houston, UTSA, Texas State and Lamar.

Linebacker: Bryce Sliva (Tidehaven, 2026)

In the championship game against Ganado, Sliva caught the touchdown pass to extend Tidehaven's lead to two scores, then iced the game with a goal-line interception. The three-year starter was an all-state selection in 2024.

Safety: MarQwae Willis (Waco La Vega, 2026)

Willis (6'0, 170) has one offer from Arkansas State, but DCTX Director of Recruiting Greg Powers says more schools should be paying attention. Willis had 72 tackles and three interceptions as a junior while also moonlighting as a wide receiver and kick returner.

Safety: Donovan Webb (Frisco Panther Creek, 2026)

Webb, the No.18-ranked prospect in the DCTX Hot 100, hauled in a touchdown catch with an arm in his face in the championship game against Kilgore. He also played man coverage on Kilgore star Lakeyleon Graves in overtime, helping to force a turnover on downs.

Safety: Jakalen Sheffield (Kilgore, 2026)

Sheffield was a force on both sides of the ball this weekend, but we're putting him at safety because that's where he projects to play in college, with offers to UTSA and Louisiana Tech. He had 131 tackles, 14 pass breakups and seven interceptions in 2024.

Safety: Antione Baker (Austin LBJ, 2026)

Baker (6'3, 175) was one of the tournament's breakout stars, flashing his athleticism and football IQ rotating between safety and nickelback. The Old Dominion commit had 84 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, five sacks and four interceptions in 2024.

Corner: Mudassir Abdullah (Columbia, 2026)

Abdullah had three interceptions on the weekend and earned offers to Houston and Texas State in part because of his showing at State 7-on-7. The two-way star had 1,178 rushing yards and 42 tackles, five pass breakups and three interceptions in 2024.
